What You'll Do

Join the Data Layer Team, a global portfolio transforming our organization into a data-driven enterprise! The Data Layer Team builds essential data platforms, products, and capabilities to empower our clients and colleagues with high-quality, actionable insights. Our focus is on creating scalable data solutions and advancing our data infrastructure to drive informed decision-making across the company.

 

As the Use Case Enablement Product Owner (PO) within BCG’s Data Layer Team, you will collaborate with business stakeholders and use case product owners (e.g., BCG Q, Practice Areas), data owners, and engineering teams to translate business and user requirements into a clear data product vision and roadmap.

 

You will work with various Gen AI use cases and applications, including:

BCG Q – an internal GenAI expert assistant that enhances client case work by providing answers, recommendations, and activating specialized tools to improve productivity and effectiveness.Practice Area GenAI applications – developed by functional practice areas to support various capabilities (e.g., outside-in rapid cost diagnostics).Data catalog – a centralized library that provides consulting teams with access to critical tools and data assets across BCG

These tools require ingestion of multiple data sources, and your role will be to strategize the selection of eligible datasets and identify the best sources for each GenAI use case. You will ensure that these use cases and applications are equipped with the necessary data pipelines to maximize their impact on business and users.

You will play a key role in use case ideation and product vision refinement, while also managing the continuous maintenance and enhancement of data asset quality, accuracy, and stability to support evolving use cases.

In this role, you will work closely with the BCG Q team, various Practice Areas (PAs), and data owners to define end-to-end solutions that align with business needs, drive adoption, maximize user value, and optimize user experience.

You will lead and mentor a team of product analysts who will analyze detailed data requirements and feasibility, bridging the gap between business stakeholders and the data engineering/development team.

Deliver business results and customer valueLead a Data Product squad to continuously develop and enhance data-driven AI offeringsDeliver outcomes that support specific and measurable KPIsOwn and prioritize the backlog for GenAI data solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and strategic objectivesServe as the voice of customer or end-userTranslate business needs into user stories, engaging end users for continuous feedbackEngaging in continuous data discovery exercises to understand most valuable data assets that satisfy customer needsBalance customer value, technical feasibility, and business impact when making prioritization decisionsWork with product teams to integrate GenAI-enhanced offerings into BCG systems and workflowsEnable the organization’s new way of workingChampion agile principles, ensuring that squads adopt an iterative and user-focused approachPromote collaboration across squads, stakeholders, and leadership teams, fostering alignment in BCG’s data and GenAI strategiesFoster a squad culture aligned with BCG digital transformation goalsSupport and enable the Squad to effectively deliverWork closely with data engineers, lead architects, data stewards, data product analysts, and QA engineers to ensure the successful development and deployment of GenAI-enabled data solutionsActively manage Product Analysts engagements across Practice Areas (PAs) to ensure alignment and adoption of GenAI-enabled offerings for Consulting Teams (CTs)Engage with Data Layer Product Portfolio Lead (PPL) and Data Layer Technical Area Lead (TAL) to align on resourcing needs and secure necessary functional expertiseDrive cross-functional collaboration to resolve dependencies and remove blockers, ensuring smooth execution

What You'll Bring

8-10+ years of relevant experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Scrum Master in a data-driven or AI-focused environmentProven experience in AI, GenAI, or data product development, preferably with a focus on GenAI-powered user-facing applicationsStrong background in enterprise software development, data engineering, or AI-driven transformation initiativesExperience in agile methodologies, with Agile or Scrum certifications (e.g., Professional Scrum Product Owner (Scrum.org) or Certified Product Owner (Scrum Alliance) preferred)Understanding of enterprise data governance, AI model integration, and scalable data architectureFamiliarity with AI/ML technologies, including GenAI models (e.g., OpenAI GPT, RAG, fine-tuning models, or machine learning frameworks)Strategic mindset, with the ability to translate business needs into tangible, high-impact data solutionsHighly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a track record of delivering high-quality AI/data productsStrong communications and stakeholder management skillsExperience working with JIRA, Confluence or similar tool a plusExperience in consulting a plus
