As a Global Product Planner for Cell Therapy at AstraZeneca, you will be instrumental in driving the strategic planning and execution of our innovative cell therapy products across the global supply chain. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your expertise in supply chain management with a passion for making a difference in patients' lives. You may be based in Santa Monica, CA or Gaithersburg, MD and will report to the Senior Director, Supply Chain Planning.
What you will do:
End-to-end Tactical Planning: Take ownership of the end-to-end tactical planning process for the assigned cell therapy product portfolio, ensuring synchronization and continuous supply of drug product, drug substance, and materials across all supply chain nodes while optimizing service, inventory, and cost.
Clinical Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP): Lead the product Clinical S&OP process, reviewing demand, supply, and inventory plans to make aligned trade-off decisions that fulfill business objectives.
Supply Chain Configuration: Own the supply chain configuration (Value Stream Map) for the assigned products, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and responding effectively to supply issues.
Product Collaboration and Change Management: Play a key role in product and collaborator management and coordinate the global planning response in supply chain change projects, such as new product indications, new country launches, and CMC changes.
Process Collaboration and Change Management: Support the development and adoptions of new systems, technologies, master data, and process maturation to ensure scalable digital collaboration across the enterprise.
Global Product Planner for Cell Therapy must have proven specific knowledge and experience in planning Cell Therapy supply chains. This would include:
Understanding the quality, availability, and sourcing of CGT raw materials.
Key supplier knowledge/relationships for critical materials.
Understanding of regulatory pathways and requirements to operate the supply chain compliantly.
Working knowledge of warehousing and logistics mechanisms including temperature-controlled storage and 3rd party networks specific to CGT.
Traceability and tracking: Chain of Custody (COC) / Chain of Identity (COI):
Forecasting mechanisms and systems to inform planned requirements and capacity.
Planning and scheduling of supply chain steps like patient clinic visits, apheresis collection, manufacturing, and shipping lead times.
CMO capacity plans & managing material constraints.
Site scheduling and capacity slot reservations.
Planning systems and techniques– Make /order to stock vs make to order.
Lentivirus vector planning strategies.
Stakeholder management and coordination across the supply chain End to End.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Sciences, Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a supply chain environment, with a focus on manufacturing and planning.
Certification in CPIM/CSCP or equivalent preferred
Lean certification is a plus.

In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program.
