Outsourcing plays a critical role in the long-term success of AMEX GBT Consulting.  The Global Practice Line Lead will be responsible for building and executing an ambitious growth plan for the outsourced practice line, which is considerate of Enterprise and Consulting goals.  To drive sustainable growth, the plan must quantify, balance and articulate the benefits of outsourcing to the client, GBT and Consulting.  Exceptional stakeholder management, problem solving and influencing skills are required.

The Global Practice Line Lead is a critical component of the consulting delivery team. He/she will be responsible for ownership of a specific practice line area which includes overseeing the practice line strategy and providing sales support and training. With an innovative and curious mindset, he/she will be responsible for ensuring the practice line delivers best in class engagements, identifying what clients need now, and in the future.   He/she must a strong focus on best practices; and ensuring quality and consistency of delivering, both through matrixed line and project management. The Global Practice Line lead will also play the role of a change agent, ensuring feedback is escalated and issues are being addressed.

What you'll be doing:

 

Practice Line Strategy/Ownership: 

Build and execute annual practice line strategy in support of overarching GBT Consulting objectives with a focus on growing revenue 

Strategically review practice line engagements (take up, pricing, client, competitor, NPS) to identify growth segments and products 

Accountable for global and local consistency  

Lead partnership with GBP for purpose of driving GBT objectives  

Matrixed leadership of Practice Line delivery managers, including forming and leading a PL specific support team and call engagement plan 

Own the coordination of interaction with key suppliers 

Act as business product owner for GBT Consulting solutions, responsible for project and stakeholder management to ensure success of the PL strategic plan 

 

Innovation & Development: 

Responsible for developing, designing and implementing solutions (software and services) to drive revenue growth, deliver cost efficiencies and ensure a best in class value proposition 

Define and oversee the creation of deliverables and supporting innovation and development roadmap 

Work closely with the Consulting Strategy Director, and other practice line leads on best practices, implementing new practice lines and cross training teams 

Partner on the development of innovation/core projects in collaboration with Innovation & Development team 

 

Advocacy and Marketing 

Stay abreast of the marketplace, incorporating relevant elements into the practice line tools, deliverables and value proposition 

Create and deliver compelling thought leadership, helping shape the industry narrative aligned to the Practice Line Strategic Plan 

Engage with GBT Marketing to ensure consistency of messaging between GBT and GBT Consulting as it relates to the practice line and value proposition 

Support brand building projects (i.e., GBTA presentations, forecasts, etc.)  
 

 

 

Engagement/Sales Support: 

Partnering with the engagement/sales team on the business development and revenue growth of the practice line area 

In partnership with GBT Marketing, create compelling sales collateral which articulates the value that GBT Consulting delivers to clients 

Oversight of high stakes proposals to ensure accuracy of offer, scope, pricing, etc 

Protect and grow margin by ensuring clearly scoped value proposition and supporting documentation aligned to pricing models 

Responsible for the creation and maintenance of pricing model & SOW 

Responsible for first line pricing and pricing exception approval 

 

Best Practice and Training: 

Create and share best practice documentation to ensure global consistency and efficiency 

Lead the charge in training the team globally; supporting coaching opportunities 

Work with the heads of Strategy, Engagement, GMN & SME the region to build the annual learning strategy 

Ensure the team is apprised of all offerings, the value proposition and how they work 

 

Change Agent: 

Play the role as a change agent; helping to drive the GBT Consulting change efforts by communicating the benefits of transformation to stakeholders within and outside of GBT Consulting 

Manage conflict and ensure key milestones are met 

Obtain team feedback and escalate any issues or concerns 

Effectively delegate practice line activities to broader practice line team members 

 

Other: 

Manage a small client portfolio  

Manage a small line team 

 

What we need from you:

Held Global Travel Manager or Buyer/equivalent in large, complex organization 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant industry experience 

Consulting experience preferred 

Exceptional experience in strategic project / program management 

Previous experience in consultative selling  

Strong leadership skills with a focus on growth and results 

Ability to think innovatively and entrepreneurially about business solutions 

Must possess acute business and financial acumen, along with the ability to drive results and achieve targets 

Ability to build and cross train on specific practice line area 

Executive presence with strong communication skills 

Exceptional quality of delivery 

Ability to travel to client site based on client need 

Advanced software skills are required (MS Office) to enable self service initial financial modelling and compelling presentation content creation
