The Role: The Global Liaison Specialist manages the planning, organizing, communication and implementation of the Together by St. Jude™ program’s global outreach efforts. This job develops and manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help expand, manage and promote educational resources for patients and families facing pediatric life-threatening diseases. This job supports the Strategic Communication, Education and Outreach Department by understanding the cultural implications of content development and building bridges with patient and family groups across the world. This job collaborates with leadership to develop and support an overall global outreach strategy and communicates and partners with the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine, St. Jude Global, and members of the St. Jude Global Alliance to ensure alignment. This job performs other related duties as assigned or directed to meet the department's and institution's goals and objectives. Responsibilities: Demonstrate high degree of accuracy and efficiency in writing, revising, editing and proofreading material including print, visual, PowerPoints, videos, flyers and other items, to support the stakeholders' communication needs. Serve as a communication point of contact offering guidance on style, branding, visual layout, wording and methods of communication. Effectively collect and use data to convey information and translate technical, legal and other information for a lay audience. International travel as required (1-2 times per year) Evaluate the effectiveness of communication campaigns and collect feedback to make adjustments for the future. Develop and write special communications for key stakeholders, including articles, presentations, talking points for outside communication initiatives/interviews and other needs as assigned. Maintain current knowledge of employee communication trends and industry best practices. Manage various intranet projects and perform any other related duties as assigned to meet the goals of the department and institution. Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Minimum Education and/or Training: Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, Biomedical sciences or related field required. Master's degree OR PhD preferred. Minimum Experience: Minimum Requirement: 2+ years of experience in communications, journalism, English or related field required. Demonstrated experience in business communications, journalism, PR, and communications in life sciences or healthcare environment. Formal project management experience is highly preferred. Experience with relationship management is preferred. Fluency in multiple languages is preferred. Fluency in Hindi or Chinese is a plus. Proficiency in software programs such as Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other tools used to create communication materials. Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role. Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
