What You'll Do

This is a Quality Assurance Chapter Lead (manager) position within BCG's Quality Assurance Center of Expertise (QA CoE). The QA CoE resides within BCG’s Cloud & Platform Engineering Tribe (CPE). The role of the CPE tribe includes developing and supporting new and enhanced applications, as well as integrating and configuring third party software applications used by the Global HR, Finance, Knowledge, Marketing, Legal, etc. functions. The responsibilities of the CPE tribe include enabling efficient processes within the Global Functions; leading and implementing system change initiatives; and supporting the functional user community to optimize the management of the business. As a member of the QA CoE, you will help support its initiatives, which consist of assessing, advising, instituting, and monitoring best practices across the other product development tribes within BCG, as well as helping to streamline all other QA processes.

To be successful, this individual must have proven experience in quality assurance, leadership of QA team(s), ability to define and execute test plans to verify system requirements, and the ability to effectively communicate with project team members and end users.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality Assurance Chapter Lead (Manager) will be responsible for understanding and building QA expertise on various BCG Applications’ functionalities. The main responsibilities for this position are to assess, advise, design, create, execute, and update test cases; log defects with proper documentation; plan and prioritize daily test execution and to provide help in making and adhering to testing related processes.

Develop automation scripts and maintain framework to help integrate tests seamlessly into the current development / deployment process.Execute automation scripts and log defects.Work directly with the QA CoE to support developing automated test processes.Work with Development Teams, Business Analysts, and Service owners to understand/analyze requirements and build test cases.Work with the various Development functions to track, manage and help implement application changes either in the form of support fixes or system improvements / enhancements.Responsible for determining, negotiating, and agreeing on in-house quality procedures, guard-rails, standards, and specifications.Define standards and guardrails to guide how Chapter members execute work and develop expertiseWorks with Product Owners to optimize deployment of Chapter members across SquadsAs player-coach, line-manages Chapter members and guides the development of their expertise​​​​​​​Supports POs and Squads to develop inputs for the QBR memo, assists in resolution where chapter resource constraints limit delivery

Day to Day Responsibilities

Build automation frameworks to help integrate automated tests seamlessly into the current development process.Assess maturity and make recommendations for improving QA processes across various product teams.Drive quality across the teams by constantly building easy to use test frameworks and influencing product teams to move towards test-driven or behavior-driven development.Develop Test Cases based on business requirements, analysis, and design of technical solutions to business problems.Strive to scale-up test coverage using automation.Participate in reviews for requirements, architectures, designs, code, and test plans.Review, evaluate, analyze, and participate in planning for such projects.Facilitate knowledge sharing among the team.Provide management with on-going recommendations to advancements in the QA CoE.Assist in implementation and post implementation support including customized developments.

YOU’RE GOOD AT

Strive to scale up test automation coverage using a risk-based approach blend of unit, integration, and UI tests.Expertise with automation tools such as TestComplete, Selenium, Cypress, WebDriver.IO, etc.Experience with BDD/Cucumber framework, TestNG, and Allure reporting.Good command over OOPS concepts.Experience with Agile methodology.Expertise of the software testing life cycle (STLC).Hands-on Experience in writing Test Scenarios, Test Cases, Test Execution, and Defect reporting.Experience of various types of testing – Functional, System, Integration, and Regression Testing.Able to design low level test cases from high level test cases without guidance.Able to execute all the test case and report defects, define severity and priority for each defect.Possess knowledge of at least one defect management tool.Possess knowledge of Testing Artifacts and Testing Deliverables.Detail oriented and quality minded.Good verbal and written communication skills.Good Analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to operate with multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.Flexibility to adapt to a continually changing and fast-paced business environment.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and managers.Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.Ability to lead, coach, and mentor small QA teams in a global working environment.Understanding of the Agile Test Pyramid and ROI of various layers of test automation.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT/Electronics/Computer Science8+ years of experience in Testing/QAAt least 4 years of experience in Automation Testing using Java or related technologiesStrong grasp of computer science fundamentals, algorithms, OOPS, and data structuresExperience with TestComplete, Selenium, Cucumber, or similar automation frameworkHands-on experience in documenting test plans, test cases and test executionHands-on experience of testing online/web applications with knowledge of QA best practicesExperience of working with both end users and ITExperience in working on Microsoft Office products (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)Experience of working Test management / Defect Management testing tools (Zephyr, TestRail, qTest, etc.)Specific training or certifications in Quality Assurance is preferredStrong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, etc.)Deep understanding of customization, configuration, workflows, and plugins within Dynamics CRMProficiency in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse) is a big plus

Relevant certifications are a plus, such as:

Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 FundamentalsISTQB Certified Tester (especially for QA leadership roles)Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant
