To execute this transformation, we need people who take the lead in defining standards and guardrails of working and developing expertise further within the teams.
Our transformation requires a series of efforts across HR space. Over the next few years, you will have the opportunity to lead our most important transformation programs. At the start of your journey, you will focus on talent management solutions related to Career Development, Staffing and Mobility of our teams. You will begin with focusing on transforming the solution for Career Development. Career Development is at the core of BCG Purpose which is “Unlocking the Potential of those who advance the world”. You will jointly lead the transformation program with our functional experts and be responsible for delivering a world class, modern tech enabled career development solution for our consulting staff.
We are seeking a Technology Director to bring our Digital Products vision to reality in partnership with BCG’s Career Development team. As a technical leader, you will act as a pioneer, thought leader, problem solver, and be sought out for your expertise by product teams, enabling them to go faster, safely, and prevent solutions that are hard to change and stifle innovation. You will be accountable for delivering the technology roadmap, architecture, design, development and implementation of the solution. You will bring industry best practices and hands-on expertise to design and implement secure, performant and scalable solutions. You will lead a group of engineers and architects embedded in the Digital Products team and be responsible for their growth, up-skilling and ongoing development. You will work closely with several technology teams to align to an enterprise vision for IT services across BCG’s internal business functions.
• Roadmap Development Partner with the Product owners and tech owners and program teams to define technology roadmaps and set clear priorities for your portfolio.
• Technical Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of technical projects, ensuring that all phases of the product and program lifecycle are executed efficiently.
• Program Execution: Collaborate closely with stakeholders, architects, and development teams to manage and deliver program plans effectively.
• Problem Solving: Work with key stakeholders to understand business challenges and propose innovative technology solutions, including experimenting with new and emerging technologies.
• Agile Practices: Apply Agile methodologies—such as work estimation, TDD, and BDD—to streamline development processes.
• Architecture & Standards: Supervise technical architecture, tooling, platforms, and systems in coordination with Enterprise Architecture to maintain compliance with established standards.
• Data & Integrations: Understand the data and integration landscape and collaborate with expert teams to support enterprise-level integration, reporting, and analytics.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with enterprise teams on UX design, security best practices, cloud strategies, and platform engineering.
• Team Leadership: Guide and coach a team of engineers, technical specialists, and architects, encouraging the adoption of innovative technologies and practices.
• Technical Analysis: Lead technical analysis and estimation efforts for custom-built applications.
• Best Practices: Drive the adoption of release management and automation best practices.
• Incident Management: Ensure thorough root cause analysis and prompt remediation during any incidents or outages.
• Vendor Coordination: Work with external vendors to supplement team capacity and expertise when necessary.
What You'll Bring
BA/MS degree in computer or information sciences or similar field 13+ years of relevant experience in delivering large scale IT Transformation initiatives, preferably in large international organizations Leadership of technical teams and vendors during large implementation programs with hands-on roles around program management and leadership Hands-on technology development and implementation experience Experience in agile development environments with all aspects of SDLC with globally distributed teams Ability to lead/perform software development, as well as make architectural recommendations pertinent to business needs and related dependencies Good understanding of security best practices from development and deployment perspective Strong technical competence, with the ability to rapidly learn new tools and technologies Flexibility and entrepreneurial spirit to adapt easily to changing requirements and priorities Experience leading and developing solutions across a varied technology stack including: Object-Oriented design SOLID principles and modern design patterns Full stack development experience including Front-end JavaScript frameworks like Angular & React Databases and EDW technology like Snowflake SOA & Microservices architecture implementation using REST APIs, queue-based messaging patterns, exposure to Mulesoft/Kong is a plus On-premise/cloud-based infrastructures, SDLC pipelines, and deployments/configurations and definition/evangelism of best practices/standards Software delivery including CI/CD and related DevSecOps practices, working with cloud based platforms such as Azure or AWS (preferred) Experience working on AI/Gen AI implementations and underlying architecture and models Application testing, automation and performance testing tools Working knowledge of Agile Scrum
