Global Innovation Leader

DuPont Water & Protection (W&P)—'Shelter Solutions’ line of business, is comprised by the Corian® Design and Performance Building Solutions. The business delivers product solutions for both the interior and exterior of a building that enhance the performance and beautification of shelters across the globe. The Shelter Solutions business combines multiple globally-recognized brands under one business – Great Stuff™, Great Stuff Pro™, Froth-Pak™, Styrofoam™, Tyvek®, Corian® Design, and others. 

The Global Innovation Leader role is an exciting opportunity to drive the success of critical innovation projects and will be responsible for managing the new product development process and business unit’s innovation project funnel targeting over $100MM of revenue growth opportunity.  This oversees the management process for our business’ efforts to create and launch new products, from initial market assessment, concept ideation, innovation, pilot, market launch, and sales proliferation tracking. 

The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams including R&D, product marketing, sales, supply chain and manufacturing to track and de-risk growth projects, while leading selected North America Region growth projects directly.

The Innovation Leader will ensure our innovation funnel is aligned with our broader business goals, and coach project teams to meet market trends, regulatory drivers, and customer requirements alongside impactful business cases—inspiring a culture of innovation and enhancing the organization’s capabilities to bring new products to market.

Reporting into the Global Commercial Excellence Team Leader for DuPont Shelter Solutions, the Global Innovation Leader will be responsible for:

Supporting and coaching innovation project teams to ensure we are prioritizing critical thinking over process to accelerate innovationEnsuring project information is accurate in the innovation portfolio management tool: Innovation 365; and ensuring future functionality and reporting capabilities are leveraged.Benchmarking best in class innovation companies to learn and bring in best practices to the organizationManaging the project funnel for future ‘next on’ market and technology discovery areas.  Conducting quarterly innovation portfolio reviews and recommending options to accelerate/stop projects and support decisions for the best allocation of resources. Work closely with Finance to create monthly innovation dashboards demonstrating the success of launched projects for senior leadership teamSupport Shelter’s annual Innovation Investment Review (IIR) presentation, which outlines where/how we are investing in innovation  Providing the necessary tools, processes and frameworks that accelerate the organization’s ability to innovate and launch successful products.Lead selected North America Strategic Growth projects directly based upon the ‘Where to Play’ and ‘How to Win’ framework including market research/analysis, segmentation, targeting, and product positioning followed by product development testing, market pilot and transition to product marketing and regional sales for commercial launch.

Skills and Experience;

Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, marketing experience preferred with strong business acumenProven success in analyzing data to accurately size markets, identify critical insights from data to determine factors driving growth rates, conceptualizing value propositions based upon voice of customer interviews, and envisioning new business model options.+ 5years relevant experience in a B2B environment working across functional teams to deliver resultsExperience leading new product development projects including obtaining customer insights, ideating, testing and launching new products and/or new business modelsKnowledge of innovation practices and concepts such lean startup, agile/scrum, Jobs-to-be-done, needs based segmentation, and familiarity with tools such as business model canvas and value proposition canvas.Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias action in highly ambiguous environments. Experience in startups, scale-ups or corporate venturing is a plus.
