Global Gas Solutions Manager

The Manager of Global Gas Systems is responsible for supporting the activities of the global gas solutions team with an emphasis on gas projects, including gas carriers, gas liquefaction, and regasification-related projects and systems. This includes management of GGS efforts, which relate to the development of products and services; the identification, establishment, and nurturing of client relationships; and coordination of Corporate initiatives associated with the application of relevant technologies to our processes as well as the projection of our image as a technology leader in the marine gas fuels industry.

What You Will Do:

Communicate with and provide support to owners, shipyards, designers, and other stakeholders in support of ABS’ business development efforts and ongoing projects. Where necessary, streamline communications with internal stakeholders and assist in resolving issues with external stakeholders on ongoing projects Supports internal stakeholders as SMEs on gas-related issues, including gas carriers, floating gas projects, and gas and lower flash point fuel applications. Maintain awareness of the product and service capabilities of the worldwide marine gas businesses and identify improvement and developmental needs. Recommend actions to capitalize on prospective market opportunities and make recommendations for technology or technical tools and manpower skills necessary to implement new and improved products and services.  Engages actively in local, national, and international organizations as required. Participate in marketing ABS’ services related to NG with informational content for advertisements and articles as necessary.  Participate in client visits, meetings, conferences, trade shows, and seminars related to the NG industry as requested. Promote ABS and ABSC capabilities to existing and potential gas clients. Supports ABS activities related to Rule development, identification of research and development needs, and involvement in outside committees and organizations. Assist the Directors and Vice President, GGS, in business development efforts as needed

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. At least five years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Detailed knowledge of Gas Carriers, Gas Fuel systems, and other gas systems as applicable systems. Excellent ability to communicate complex and unique technical issues orally and in writing, as well as present them to clients and at public forums.  The ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex and unique programmatic issues.  Strong familiarization with MS Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to a Director or higher-level position and has no direct reports. 

Working Conditions:

The work will normally be performed in an air-conditioned office environment. Occasionally, you may have to lift between 5 and 15 pounds.
