If this sounds like you, we may have an opportunity for you on our global communications team. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Global Events Manager to join us. As a key member of our communications team, this global events team member will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and overseeing a diverse range of external events, from large-scale conferences to smaller industry trade shows. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in event strategy and management, as well as capable of translating business objectives into engaging and impactful online and offline experiences to support Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group (IDG) business. The Global Events Manager will be part of a seasoned, diverse and lean team of global events professionals committed to driving external promotion and engagement through experiential events – reporting into the IDG Global Events Team Lead within the business unit. The role is based in Lenovo’s Morrisville (Raleigh-Durham), U.S. headquarters and will collaborate closely with teams across North America, Asia, Europe, and Latin America with travel requirements. Specifically, the role will focus on: + Owning the event process end-to-end from driving strategic planning to execution of IDG’s high-impact presence at key global industry trade shows, including coming up with creative new ways to maximize brand and portfolio awareness both in-person and virtually as well as seamless coordination to support business growth + Collaborating closely with many stakeholders across business groups, verticals, and segments; local market teams; external industry and agency partners to bring a strong, unified message to life at global events + Developing and managing complex event budgets, negotiating favorable contracts, and ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost control while delivering premium experiences + Implementing data-driven event measurement strategies, leveraging modern analytics tools to track key performance metrics and post-event evaluations and garner actionable insights to inform future business and event strategies **Basic Qualifications:** + Education: + BA/BS degree + Experience: + 8+ years of experience managing events on the brand or agency side with a track record of successfully coordinating large-scale events, tech-related event experience a plus **Preferred Qualifications:** + Project Management Skills: + Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment + Strategic Thinker: + Strong strategic and analytical mindset, able to effectively align events with broader company goals and measure their impact + Communication: + Excellent verbal and written communication skills (particularly in selling ideas and plans through PowerPoint decks), adept at collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders + Tech-savvy: + Comfortable with event/project management and budgeting tools and virtual conference platforms, and adept at leveraging new technology to enhance event experiences + Demonstrate superb verbal and written communications (especially in PowerPoint) + Have strong project management skills in multitasking multiple priorities and take end-to-end ownership of projects + Be able to make strategic, prudent decisions (at times without full information), without leaning on agency support + Be able to course-correct and influence stakeholders in a fast-paced environment against fast-breaking developments and timelines + Be a strategic thinker as well as a practical doer, comfortable with rolling up your sleeves to get things done with limited resources + Constantly challenge the status quo and be entrepreneurial in pursuing new event ideas and better ways of representing the Lenovo brand and portfolio – with a sharp eye for great creative and detail + Be flexible to travel domestically and internationally to key launches and meetings + Be respectful and effective in communicating across cultures and flexible to accommodate working with teams across different time zones The base salary range budgeted for this position is $110,000 - $150,000.
