Location:
The Environmental Sustainability Manager is an on-site position that can be in Tempe, AZ, Carlsbad, CA or Allentown, PA. Domestic and international travel is required to support business needs.
Your Role:
EMD Electronics is looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to enhance our sustainability efforts across the organization. This pivotal role emphasizes fostering alignment, prioritization, and coordination of sustainability initiatives within our production network.
The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of chemicals and the associated global environmental regulations. You will collaborate with various teams across our Business Units to integrate sustainable practices into our core operations, ensuring that our environmental goals align with broader business objectives and facilitate more sustainable practices throughout our operations. In this role, you will guide the alignment of sustainability strategies at local production sites and within business unit supply chains, ensuring they resonate with our organizational priorities. You will work closely with local Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) managers to coordinate efforts that support our global environmental targets while providing expert advice on industry regulations and best practices.
Your responsibilities will include engaging with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to embed sustainability into everyday processes. By leveraging digital tools and data analytics, you will track and report on sustainability performance, focusing on metrics that demonstrate our commitment to sustainability as a core aspect of our business. As a leader, you will facilitate cross-functional task forces and project teams to gather site-specific data and prepare comprehensive sustainability reports for stakeholders. Staying informed about evolving environmental regulations and industry standards will be crucial for ensuring compliance and identifying innovative opportunities that drive sustainable business practices.
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 8+ experience in environmental sustainability, within the chemicals, semiconductor, or similar chemical industry.OR
Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of experience in environmental sustainability, within the chemicals, semiconductor, or similar chemical industry.Global knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices in the chemicals industry.Proven experience with digital tools and data analytics for sustainability reporting and performance tracking.Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present findings clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in the Semiconductor industry Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
