About the role:

This role is part of the Global Quality and Operations function of Convatec, and specifically sits in the Global Supply Chain team encompassing all demand and supply planning, logistics and customer service.This role is a leadership role, where the individual supports leading Global Demand Planners cover a global scope of products for one or more Convatec Business Units across all geographies. The individual specifically must oversee that their colleagues/team ensure:Management of the demand planning process for the assigned business unit(s), geography, and product portfolio, planning for short-, medium- and long-term requirements.Successful partnering with the commercial organization on the requirements to meet business plans and targets, translating market requirements into the demand signal, the balancing and management of inventory and driving the market-level S&OP processes.The individual takes the lead in the organization and running of the Executive S&OP for the Business Unit, informing, escalating, influence CELT levels BU Presidents, CFO and EVP GQO. Recommendations for approval and escalations for support must be prepared in advance. This activity is predominantly coordinated by this individual.This individual must be able to speak to the Operational performance dashboard and speak to issue resolution where KPIs are not meeting target.This role requires highly collaborative skills, an inclusive personality prepared to go outside their remit to facilitate and catalyze the right conversations to drive issue resolution, cross-functional alignment, and continuous improvement.This is a critical role within the global and regional supply chain organization to support Patient requirements and Convatec operational commitments to support product availability, market growth, profitability, and efficient cash management.Successful members of the team demonstrate high proficiency in collaboration, communication, developing trust with key stakeholders and pro-active desire to understand and anticipate future needs. Strong analytical skills are needed, an inquisitive and solution-orientated mindset and a desire to problem solve dynamic and complex challenges.

How we will measure your success in the role:

Achievement of service levels (Delivered-In-Full-On-Time: DIFOT).Achievement of inventory targets globally.Forecast Accuracy and Bias.Accuracy of forecast scenarios for medium and long term to support capacity management.Accuracy of events Management and responsiveness to all scenarios.

Your key duties and responsibilities:

Leadership

Leadership and target setting for Global Demand Planners in partnership with Commercial and Finance organizations.Target proposal setting for Demand Planning KPIs (outlined above), and ownership to drive delivery.Key contact point for Commercial and Finance Business Partners at a VP and Director level globally.Key partner with equivalent Supply Planning Lead for the BU.

Demand Planning and S&OP Process.

Develop highly collaborative and trusted relationships with the Commercial and Marketing organizations to ensure Demand requirements are understood and accurately transmitted to Supply PlanningManage the market demand plans over the planning horizon to identify trends, event scenarios, issues, and corrective actions, through demand analysis, demand scenarios, reconciliation with financials and commercial collaboration.Accountable for running and evolving the market level S&OP processes and ensure the scope of the S&OP performance metrics are being met.Owner of the forecasting tool for the defined scope, including all data inputs per the update cyclesPrimary Supply Chain point of contact for the markets in their area of responsibilityActively develop the relationships with markets commercial and financial teams to build market knowledge over the 18-, 24- and 36-months planning horizon. Ensure communication of volume and portfolio requirements are effectively communicated to the Supply Planning team to ensure continuity of supplyWhere tender processes exist, ensure products in bids can be supplied and key decision points are mapped to manage supply without excess inventoryOwn, monitor and publish performance metrics & reports e.g., Business Unit dashboard and status reports.  Includes development and maintaining KPI’s

Inventory Management

Develop the inventory strategy for their scope, partnering closely with the Supply Planning team to ensure alignment of metrics and efficiency of the proposal.Ensure the rightsizing and efficiency of the finished goods inventory for the Business Units/Markets assigned.Review excess inventory and obsolescence and provide re-active and pro-active steps to reduce risk with close coordination with the commercial and financial teams.Identify areas for improved efficiency in service and inventory and align SAP parameters accordingly.

Life Cycle Management

Guided by the Director, Supply Chain Product Portfolio, support the management of the Business Unit product portfolio, specifically coordinate new product launches and end of life activities.Accountable for systems being aligned during launch and discontinuation processesReduce risk by communicating clearly with commercial teams by identifying deviations from launch or discontinuation plansParticipate in project teams to represent the demand planning outcomes of forecasts scenarios. Support scenario planning and realization for NPDs.

Other

With an understanding of the GQO strategic priorities and those of Convatec and the specific market needs, develop and implement continuous improvement strategies to drive simplification, additionally to balance and optimize forecast accuracy, inventory management and customer serviceLead and/or participate on projects including cost savings and continuous improvement projectsAct as backup to other Business Unit Demand Planners during vacation, business travel or other times on an as needed basis

Skills & Experience:

Proven Background and experience in a Demand Planning/S&OP leadership level at a market &/ regional level.SAP and IBP modules experience highly preferred – transactions and reports.Global experience and in healthcare (Medical Device or Pharma) preferred.Experience in the S&OP/IBP process.Expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential.Critical thinking skills/process thinking orientation.Self-initiator.Strong analytical skills together with business acumen.Good communication and collaboration skills.  Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority, build consensus and look for collaboration with people from different departments and all levels.Highly organized and well prepared.Proactive attitude and approach to problem solving – “can-do” mind-set.Works independently on complex issues.Ability to work on tight deadlines and prioritize.Strong listening and influencing skill.

Qualifications/Education:

Bachelor's degree minimum. Preferably in supply chain, operations management or engineering or equivalent experienceAPICS Certification highly preferred (current certification with CPIM or CSCP)

Travel Requirements:

The position may involve travel up to 15% of the time.International travel is possible. Most trips will include overnight travel.
