Global Custom & OEM Solutions Consultant
JOB OBJECTIVE: The Global Custom & OEM Solutions Consultant will develop and implement business growth strategies to significantly enhance Promega’s success in selling OEM products to life science companies for use in the manufacture and assembly of their products. CORE DUTIES: 1. Develop and implement strategic account plan to significantly increase Promega’s revenues, profits and customer satisfaction leveraging Promega’s OEM capabilities. Plans should be developed in cooperation with North American Sales Management, Marketing, Custom & OEM Products, Product Managers, Marketing Managers, Business Unit Managers, and Manufacturing Operations. 2. Account plans should include: -Strategic objectives. -Performance goals. -Understanding of customer operations, current and future needs, customer buying behaviors, competitive factors, and OEM opportunities. -Product positioning and differentiation strategy. -Customer value delivered. -Tactics to achieve objectives and goals. 3. Identify appropriate resources to implement the business plan by working jointly with functional group managers and department heads, i.e., information systems, manufacturing interfaces, sales, and marketing. 4. Develop comprehensive pricing strategy to reflect value delivered while growing revenues and profit. 5. Identify new business opportunities by working with Branches, North American Sales Management, and business teams, personally negotiating long term supply agreements with consensus from all affected sales teams. 6. Develop and nurture long term strategic relationship with customers to enable early involvement by Promega team. Establish deep relationships with customers, including senior level contacts. Offer the best solution to meet their needs and identify opportunities for technology acquisition. As appropriate, serve as the primary liaison and coordinator to develop and maintain these relationships. 7. Prepare and present account reviews internally and externally as required. 8. Identify technologies and products needed to maintain and expand the business.  Work with R&D and Manufacturing Operations to ensure plans are developed to meet these product needs. 9. Contribute and support the market/industry externally.  10. Provide information on competitors and new product opportunities internally. 11. Identify new market opportunities to expand OEM offerings. 12. Drive customer satisfaction into the entire account. 13. Maintain up to date customer information in Promega’s CRM system. 14. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Proven ability to understand, identify, and position technologies and products adding significant value to the customer base. 2. Minimum of 6 years’ sales experience in the life sciences. 3. B.S./B.A. degree in scientific or another relevant field. 4. Demonstrated success in negotiating high value agreements. 5. Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic sales plans producing outstanding results. 6. Proven ability to develop, grow and maintain strategic customers. 7. Outstanding presentation skills. 8. Proven effectiveness in communicating with all levels of management and staff, internally and externally. 9. Effective negotiator and facilitator. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. OEM sales, sales management, business development and/or marketing experience. 2. Experience working in regulated environments. 3. Sales experience in research reagents to academic, industrial, and pharmaceutical customers. 4. S. in life sciences, advanced degree preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to use computer equipment including Microsoft Office applications. 2. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time. 3.
