As the Global Commodity Leader, you will develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, including cast iron and valves. Under the guidance of the Director, Direct Materials Americas, you will lead efforts to optimize the supply chain, identify world-class suppliers, and collaborate with interdepartmental teams to achieve cost reduction and operational excellence.

You Will:

Develop and execute cost reduction strategies aligned with company goals

Manage important metrics such as Supplier Quality, Service, Cost, Safety, and Integrity.

Become the subject matter expert for assigned commodities and associated markets.

Categorize suppliers as Grow, Maintain, or Rationalize, and implement appropriate strategies.

Create and manage a Sourcing Cost Reduction Program (PPV & VAVE) project funnel.

Develop and maintain a supply chain roadmap, supporting transitions and continuous improvements.

Lead supplier negotiations and project implementation for assigned commodities.

Develop relationships with our teams (Engineering, Product Management) and external suppliers.

Provide escalation support for site purchasing managers and improve supplier performance through global leverage.

Maintain a Supplier Risk Management Program, focusing on capacity, quality, and delivery.

You Have:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or Supply Chain.

7+ years of experience in supply chain operations (industrial/commercial), with expertise in cast iron and valves.

Must have at least two years of experience in a buyer/planner role.

Commodity experience establishing and implementing strategic plans to deliver world class sourcing of manufactured parts, preferably machined castings or forgings.

International commodity sourcing experience in China, Mexico and India is preferred.

Experience in delivering year-over-year savings in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in a Lean/Six Sigma transformation.

Willingness to travel 25% domestically and internationally as required

The expected salary range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000 yearly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
