Summary: The Glassware/Cagewash Support role ensures cleanliness and sterilization of laboratory glassware, animal cages, and other essential research equipment to maintain a sterile research environment. Schedule: Primarily 0800-1630, with flexibility based on research and cleaning demands. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Clean and sterilize laboratory glassware, animal cages, and research equipment Maintain accurate records of cleaning and sterilization processes Ensure compliance with biosafety and laboratory protocols Support overall laboratory operations by managing inventory and supplies Operate sterilizers (autoclaves) and cage wash equipment Monitor and report equipment malfunctions to maintenance teams Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Equipment sterilization, biohazard safety, inventory management, lab cleaning, organization Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent At least 1+ years in a laboratory or animal care setting experience Must meet all requirements for CS-PRP and BPRP to access ABSL-3 and ABSL-4 containment areas. T3 investigation (NACLC/ANACI is acceptable if completed within 5 years prior to enrollment). A favorably adjudicated SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified, is required. Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years with laboratory equipment maintenance and sanitation experience The hourly range for this position is $16.00 - $25.00.
