Wärtsilä’s Get to Know Technology program is an eight working days internship program for students who are 15- and 16-year-olds on the starting date of the program. No previous working experience is required. The program is organised in our Sustainable Technology Hub in Vaasa on Mon 9.6 – Wed 18.6 during weekdays from 9-15.
The aim of the program is to give the interns a look into the working life, an opportunity to develop their teamwork and communication skills and increase their understanding of Wärtsilä. There is a guided pre-planned program for each working day with presentations from Wärtsilä professionals and different kinds of group work and activities related to specific themes like sustainability, different career opportunities and Wärtsilä Businesses. Please note that for work safety reasons, the program does not include working in the manufacturing or independent work at the offices.
What is expected of suitable applicants?
• You are a student that is 15 or 16 years of age
• Motivated and positive attitude
• Skills to participate in the program in English – your language skills do not have to be perfect, but you must be able to follow instructions and presentations and have the courage to have basic conversations in English. Finnish & Swedish will be used as support languages when needed.
• Willingness to actively collaborate with the whole group
A salary of 379€ is paid after the program and a daily lunch at the office is provided for the participants.
