Geographic Information Systems
**Description** The Leidos team has an opening for a Geographic Information System Analyst to work on the Maritime Source Processing Service. A successful candidate is responsible for analyzing geographic information from multiple maritime source files (eg. Georeferenced charts, ortho imagery, etc). May analyze data for geographic statistics or toponomy of geographical and cosmological features to incorporate into documents and reports. Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with moderate impact on the area/project team. Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments. May assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments. Addresses somewhat complex technical issues/problems using internal best practice and through collaboration with colleagues. Develops solutions to technical problems that require depth of technical knowledge but are typically limited in complexity. Communicates with colleagues across multiple areas (project managers, other technical resources, etc.). Explains technical solutions, practices and procedures to others within the organization. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Basic understanding and familiarity with various maritime datasets (Notice to Mariners, Standard Nautical Charts, ENC, Ortho Imagery, Publications, etc.) + Experience with ArcGIS/ArcMap/ArcPro/ArcCatalog + Experience extracting metadata from maritime sources and applying key metatags + Ability to identify source inaccuracies including georeferencing errors and other metadata errors + Experience with Quality Control (QC) processes + Experience querying and searching sources from data websites + Experience with data collection, validation, prepping, processing, and finishing + Ability to lead a production pipeline from start to finish + Experience following and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work aids to assist with production + Monitor customer communication and engage in any customer questions, issues, or concerns + Experience working and engaging in a team-oriented setting regarding guidance and assignment sharing + Experience with data management and strong attention to detail **Basic Qualifications:** + Proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills. + Experience with team collaboration tools (Teams, RocketChat) + Requires BS degree and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience OR 4 years of direct Customer experience in lieu of degree **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience within the Maritime Domain. + Attention to detail identifying key Maritime metadata. **Original Posting Date:** 2025-02-11 While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above. **Pay Range:** Pay Range $50,700.00 - $91,650.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
