Generator Engineer (Subject Matter Expert) Job Number: 354124 Category: -Engineering & Design SBU Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Generator Engineer with Subject Matter Expert (SME) expertise to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of generator systems, design, and maintenance practices, along with the ability to lead projects and provide technical guidance. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our generator operations. Primary Responsibilities: Serve as the SME for generator systems, providing in-depth knowledge on design, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Lead and manage generator-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to specification. Collaborate with engineering teams to design and develop generator systems, including specifications, performance criteria, and testing protocols. Develop and implement maintenance strategies for generator systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Provide technical support for complex generator issues, guiding maintenance teams in troubleshooting and resolution efforts. Conduct training sessions for staff on generator operations, maintenance practices, and safety protocols. Ensure all generator systems comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. Identify opportunities for improving generator efficiency, performance, and reliability, and lead initiatives to implement these improvements. Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant experience. 15-20 years' experience in generator engineering, with a focus on [specific areas, e.g., diesel generators, gas turbines, etc. Proven experience as a Subject Matter Expert in generator systems. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Proficient in relevant software and tools for generator design and analysis. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, Professional Engineer) are a plus. We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $100,000 to $175,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
