Inpatient and Outpatient Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine Physician
The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, is recruiting a full-time Clinical Faculty member to provide high-quality patient care as part of a dynamic, well-established clinical program. The position offers the ability to design a clinical career based on clinical interests and expertise. The Department’s clinical program consists of subspecialty outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and inpatient coverage within UT Health's affiliate hospital, University Hospital, a University Health System facility. As part of a top-ranked academic medical center, this position will have the opportunity to participate in medical student and resident clinical supervision within one of the largest PM&R residency programs in the nation.
University Hospital is a Bexar County teaching hospital that provides a Level I Trauma Center for adults and Level II Trauma Center care for pediatrics in the South/Central Texas Region. The collaboration between UHS and UT Health Science Center supports a comprehensive clinical and teaching facility.
Candidates must have an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) and be board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). Preferred “American Board Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation” (ABPM&R) certifications in Traumatic Brain Injury, Neuromuscular Medicine, Spinal Cord Injury, and “American Board of Emergency Medicine” (ABEM) certification in Electrodiagnostic Medicine. In addition, candidates must be eligible for a Texas Medical License, for certification by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, and for credentials with UT Medicine San Antonio and University Hospital. The rank and salary of this position will be dependent on the individual's qualifications. Salaries are competitive and there are opportunities for specific effort allocation to be negotiated based on candidate preference.
