As a General Manager and Technical Manager within our team, you’ll lead Diageo’s Zepf UK division while also driving key packaging and automation initiatives across our global operations.
In this dual role, you’ll manage the full P&L for Zepf UK, a specialist in container handling systems, and work with partners across Diageo to implement innovative solutions in packaging. This is a high-impact position that requires financial and operational expertise, critical thinking, and leadership capabilities to enhance Diageo’s position as a global leader.
Key Responsibilities
General Manager (Zepf UK)
Drive Growth: Lead Zepf UK towards sustainable growth and deliver business value back to Diageo.
Operational Oversight: Take responsibility for the complete P&L, covering operational, sales, and marketing activities.
Risk & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Strategic Planning: Develop plans for continuous improvement in all aspects of Zepf’s operations.
Technical Manager (Global Packaging & Automation)
Technical Leadership: Lead the Packaging Transformation team to deliver advancements in packaging and automation.
Innovation and Efficiency: Find opportunities across Diageo’s global supply chain for increased efficiency and sustainability.
Project Management: Oversee the scoping, design, and delivery of major capex projects, ensuring alignment with Diageo’s goals.
Partner Engagement: Collaborate with equipment suppliers and Diageo’s technical, procurement, and site leadership teams.
Key Accountabilities
Profitably Grow Zepf UK: Secure employee stability and deliver growth value to Diageo. Deliver Technical Expertise: Drive innovation and improvement in packaging and automation. Maintain Standards: Uphold Diageo’s global regulatory and safety standards. Project Collaboration: Implement priority projects with cross-functional teams. Build Relationships: Engage effectively with internal and external partners to achieve shared objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Engineering Background: Professional engineer with significant track record in Packaging and Automation, ideally within FMCG.
P&L and Financial Competence: Proven experience managing business P&L with a solid financial foundation.
Technical Knowledge: Expertise in packaging materials, equipment, and line design.
Health & Safety: Relevant qualification (e.g., NEBOSH) and commitment to high standards.
Communication and Leadership: Strong skills in partner engagement, influence, and relationship-building.
