The GM for SSA is responsible\nfor the overall financial and operational performance of the business. The GM\nmust possess excellent commercial acumen & business transformation\nabilities to expand market share in core industries as well as grow in new\nmarkets. The incumbent needs to be “forward thinking,” while equally engaged\noperationally in a manner that helps the team build and accomplish its goals\nand develop the next generation of leaders.

Reporting\nto Global VP/GM Projects and Automated Solution business, provides overall\nleadership to SSA Region including P&L ownership, and operations management\nof projects and project teams consisting of program managers, project managers,\nand Engineers.

The location is fixed in South Africa and key requirement is the availability of mobility for a relocation within 3-4 years. 

Key Responsibilities:

Develops and communicates long term strategy and vision for SSA Region in line with overall HPS business strategic visionEnsures a close partnership with HPS sales organization including development and review of a healthy pipeline of orders as well as engages on pre-sales opportunities on strategy and customer presentationsProvides leadership to program teams around business plans for customer terms/conditions of contractsEstablishes and maintains management operating system to monitor and address the health of the businessWorking with cross functional teams, provides significant input to overall HPS STRAP and AOPResponsible for selecting and developing top program/project management talent, building a delivery focused environmentTeams with other functional business leaders to ensure most effective use of resources across the PAS and ultimately HPS businessIncorporates cost savings and process improvement into overall operating modelResponsible for overall financial performance of SSA PAS & HPS including Orders, Revenue, Gross Profit, and OperatingIncome necessary to achieve AOPBuild a high performing projects org. by continually investing, building on the capabilities of the project managers while ensuring 100% deployment of project management tools, processes and guidelines on projects execution and commissioningOwn and drive diversification and growth in newer markets by building the skill set and competencies on projects execution for newer verticals

Key Skills and Qualifications:

General Manager / P&L experience required especially in a projects businessKnowledge of Process Instrumentation & controls, Automation in Energy Transition & Sustainability initiatives, Oil & GasMidstream Industry and Hybrid / Discrete manufacturing segmentsExperience working cross-functionally across the global organizationExcellent relationship management skills, along with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments concurrently, including ability to evaluate and manage prioritiesEffective interpersonal and communications skills, particularly the ability to communicate technical expertise and lead multi-discipline teams
