JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for the management, development, and performance of all Sales Managers & Support roles to the Sales Teams. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the company’s share of key customers ICT spend a by pro-actively identifying opportunities in key customers and selected markets. 

REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Minimum Matric and related Diploma / Degree 5 – 10 years of experience in a Top / Senior Sales Management role. Previous ICT Sales experience will be advantageous. Able to understand profit and loss calculations and business finance, e.g., gross margin percentages and calculations, depreciation, capital and revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads, etc. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with enterprise solutions in small medium, large, and complex organisations.  Extensive experience in all aspects of Customer Relationship Management.  Strong knowledge and understanding of customer and ICT market dynamics and requirements. Good negotiator and deal closer. Strong leadership skills and ability to drive sales teams.  Must be Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook.   A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance and that of subordinates.  Must be credible, reliable, and determined.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops a sales strategy that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. Increase the amount of Products (Wallet Share) within existing customers. Should take the initiative and create opportunities to drive more business from the customers. Articulate a comprehensive understanding of solutions/services offerings to a customer’s critical  business issues. Creating and maintaining database of prospective new customers. Create and conducts proposal presentations and RFP responses. Managing and maintaining a relationship with key customers. Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service. Monitor customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts. Prepare action plans by individuals as well as the team for effective prospecting and lead generation.  Initiate and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets. Provides timely feedback to the Nashua Durban Exco regarding potential opportunities, sales challenges and sales performance. Assist Sales Managers and their sales teams with the preparation of proposals and presentations. Control expenses to meet budget guidelines. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team. Create opportunities for new key accounts. Understanding the market potential.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Responsible for the selection, development, and performance of Sales Personnel.  Conduct one-on-one performance reviews with the Sales Managers to build more effective communications, and to understand the training and development needs of the Sales Teams. Recruit, test, and hire Sales Managers based on criteria agreed upon by top management.  Provide overall leadership for the organization. Drive and maintain a positive and ethical work climate that is conducive to attracting, retaining and motivating a diverse group of top-quality employees at all levels. Manage performance and ensure regular feedback, coaching and mentoring thereby enabling continuous improvement in performance.

RELATIONSHIPS AND ROLES:

Ensures that all Sales Managers meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals, and closes. Delegate’s authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up. Sets examples for Sales Managers in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits. 

OTHER ASSIGNMENTS

To perform any assignments if and when requested to do so by the Managing Executive.
