General Manager: Engineered Wood (Building Materials)

Job Summary:

We are currently partnered with a leading Building Materials company who are searching for a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead their operations in the engineered wood division. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing teams, driving sales, and optimizing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:Provide strong leadership to the branch team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team to achieve individual and collective goals.Sales and Business Development:Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.Stay abreast of market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify business growth opportunities.Operational Excellence:Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety standards.Collaborate with production and logistics teams to optimize supply chain processes and inventory management.Implement cost-effective measures to enhance overall branch profitability.Customer Service:Uphold a commitment to exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly.Work closely with the customer service team to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.Financial Management:Develop and manage the branch budget, monitor financial performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators to make informed decisions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field. MBA is a plus.Proven experience in a managerial role within the building materials or manufacturing industry, with a focus on engineered wood products.Strong understanding of the engineered wood market, including product knowledge and industry trends.Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.Demonstrated success in sales, business development, and achieving revenue targets.Solid financial acumen and experience managing budgets.Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
