Publicis Resources is a shared service center, that service all internal Agency clients.
There a a number of different departments within Resources.
Publicic Resources is looking for a General Ledger Senior Associate to assist a dynamic team in Johannesburg. The candidate main function would be accurately manage and process the payrolls on a weekly, monthly and adhoc basis. To ensure all payroll-related functions are carried out efficiently in accordance with company policies, procedures and work practices. To meet all statutory compliance requirements as dictated by various. Responsible for ensuring timely, accurate and complete preparation, reconciliation and filing of all employee tax related compliances.

**Monthly reporting**
· Review balance sheet reconciliations, monitor unusual items and movements, and investigate reconciling items
· Review manual journal entries and ensure that the supporting documentation is complete, valid, and accurate
· Review of entries prior to loading in HFM by SSC GL junior associates
· Review of upload disclosure forms from Agency for submission to Groupe Finance
· Prepare intercompany recons and ensure settlement and clearing of interdivisional transactions
· Clear intercompany mismatches for accurate monthly actuals
· Review of 3-way payroll reconciliations as submitted by payroll department and prepared by SSC GL junior associates
**Group reporting**
· Preparation and review of interim, hard close and year end reporting packs
· Preparation of the reconciliation between HFM reporting, Navsion (ERP) and the statutory accounts (CBCR)
· Preparation and submission of forms to Groupe Finance related to Corporate Social Responsibility
· Accounting for merger and acquisition activities
· Understanding of the consolidation of business units under various agencies
**Compliance in International Financial Reporting Standards/Local Legislation and Governance**
· Prepare Annual Financial Statements (AFS) in compliance IFRS and Companies Act 71 of 2008
· Review of IFRS 9 assessments prepared by Finops AR teams
· Prepare IFRS 16 accounting entries and approve posting in the system
· Ensure compliance with all Groupe Policies (Janus)
· Regular review of management estimations like fixed asset depreciation policy
· Review of the current and deferred tax calculations as submitted by tax department prior to inclusion in local reporting pack.
· Contribute to the preparation of the consolidation of management accounts for local BBBEE requirements
**Internal and external audits**
· Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion of the interim, hard close and year end audits
· Support Agency where needed during internal control reviews as carried out by Groupe Internal Audit and FMC Auditors in line with the frameworks established
· Undertake ad hoc financial projects to improve processes within Re:Sources and to increase efficiency.
· Completion of the monthly FMC audit file
Responsabilidades
1. • Performing month end close activities including (but not limited to) - journal entry posting/ adjustments• Posting of revenues/ expenses, SL-GL system reconciliation and other related General Ledger tasks• Analyze and review financials on process level to ensure consistency on accounting numbers• Use self-judgment to prepare & propose adjustments that can potentially impact Company’s financial statements• Deep understanding of fundamental accounting rules (accruals, deferrals, prepayments, depreciation etc.) to interpret and determine applicable upstream & downstream accounting impact & traceability• Responsible for establishing & ensuring timeliness of overall month end close activities and accuracy of the close process• Manage & monitor various balance sheet schedules with their substantiation impacts on P&L• Revalidate various subledgers over & above to its core SL team for accounting accuracy on broader General Ledger perspectives
Qualificações
Experience/Qualifications/Certifications
· CA (SA) or equivalent
· 1 – 2 years of post-accounting articles experience
· Superior Excel skills
· Financial Reporting Experience
· Hyperion experience (Preferable)
**Knowledge**
· Operational understanding of statutory and regulatory requirement
· Very good knowledge of IFRS
· Knowledge of local tax legislation
· Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently and interface with all relevant internal teams and external business partners as needed
· Experience working in a medium to large organization
