Job Title: General Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on General Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting and financial reporting tasks. This role offers an opportunity to extend and potentially convert to a permanent position depending on business needs, as well as exposure to an ERP implementation.

ResponsibilitiesPerform general journal posting and reconciliations.Conduct bank reconciliations.Handle fixed assets accounting, reconciliation, and reporting.Manage intragroup billings and reconciliations.Perform payroll reconciliation and posting.Complete month-end closing activities.Review and reconcile GL accounts monthly.File sales tax and related GL reconciliation.Assist with audit requests from external auditors.Assist with parent and statutory financial reporting and analysis.Participate in projects and initiatives within the finance team.Collaborate with other members of the finance team, business units, and external stakeholders.Essential SkillsProficiency in general accounting tasks such as journal entries, journal reconciliations, bank reconciliations, fixed assets accounting, and reporting.Experience with intercompany reconciliations and postings.Ability to handle month-end closing activities and GL reconciliation.Familiarity with sales tax filings and related GL reconciliation.Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot tables.Experience with SAP for reporting purposes.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with ERP implementation is a plus.Public accounting experience considered an asset but not a must have.Work Environment

The position is based in Concord, ON L4K 4T4, Canada, and requires onsite work five days a week. Working hours are flexible, typically from 9 AM to 5 PM, with core hours between 9 AM and 3 PM. Flexibility is needed for occasional late meetings, such as those related to ERP implementation, which can be attended remotely. The dress code is business casual. The team consists of 15 members, and the position reports to the Controller.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
