POSITION DESCRIPTION: The person working as breaker plant maintenance technician shall perform assigned duties on a daily basis, including, but not limited to preventive maintenance checks and services, documenting all actions as required. Must work from a prioritized list and perform all duties in a timely manner. Must remain flexible, being prepared to deal with occasional changes in responsibility, as well as schedule.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for performing preventive checks and services in assigned areas.Responsible for all documentation required by Operating Procedures. Familiarize and insure compliance and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices Handbook (GMP) policies. Responsible for complying with all Rose Acre Farms policies and procedures.Inform (within a reasonable period) the Maintenance Manager, Breaking Plant Manager or Complex Manager of any urgent or emergency situations that require immediate attention or approval. Perform any other duties deemed necessary or vital to Rose Acre Farms operations or interests.Insure housekeeping duties are routinely completed. Be familiar with and conform to all Rose Acre Farms’ Biosecurity Program policies.Must be able to lift 65 lbs. Must be able to reach area only accessible by ladder. Must be able to climb to and work on equipment in hard-to-reach areas. Must be able to learn new areas of responsibility.Must often work without supervision.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
High school diploma or equivalent desired. Must be experienced in trouble shooting equipment and making mechanical repairs. (i.e., troubleshooting, maintenance and repair, and familiarizing themselves with operation manuals). Capable of performing routine math calculations.Must be able to follow detailed instruction, work without supervision, and be able to learn new skills and responsibilities.Good communication skills (i.e. written and verbal).Be available to work flexible hours - including nights and weekends.Ability to quickly address critical and urgent situations.Possess good decision-making skills.WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.ANIMAL WELFARE COMMITMENT:
