Investment Banking Associate - Global Industrials Group

 

Our division works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on a merger, providing financial solutions for an acquisition, or structuring an initial public offering, we handle projects that help clients at major milestones. We work with corporations, pension funds, financial sponsors, and governments and are team of strong analytical thinkers, who have a passion for producing out-of-the-box ideas.

 

Our Global Industrials Group advises clients on various financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, equity/equity-linked and debt financings, joint ventures, restructurings, and financial investments. Key sub-sectors in Industrials include but are not limited to Aerospace & Defense, Diversified Industrials, Building Products, Paper & Packaging, Automotive, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, & Transportation & Logistics.

 

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Our Associates play an important role in developing and strengthening our client relationships, participating on our advisory teams and in structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions. They will gain exposure to the firm’s businesses and expand their knowledge of the investment banking industry, as they develop key analytical, communications and marketing skills. From maintaining client communication to helping Goldman Sachs structure client transactions, our Associates are a vital part of the deal team. Goldman Sachs seeks highly motivated, successful candidates for the associate role in New York.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2.5 years of work experience in investment banking/M&A or relevant field or MBA degree and 1+ years of relevant experienceSignificant investment banking or equivalent experience strongly preferredIndustrials or related industry experience preferred, but not requiredExperience with buy-side and sell-side M&A, equity and debt financing transactions requiredExperience with due-diligence and transaction execution processes requiredStrong financial modeling skills (including stress testing) and experience of building/maintaining operating models requiredExperience of preparing and maintaining industry/company presentations and benchmarking materials and other process documents requiredExposure to financing capacity valuations, impact analyses, bid analyses and collateral data analyses requiredExperience of financial valuations with knowledge of DCF, LBO, merger modeling, comparable companies, precedentStrong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team membersExcellent communication and presentation skillsSolid work ethic, motivation level, and strong attention to detailPersonal integrity, initiative and leadership qualitiesCapacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contact

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$225000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
