The Gas CAD Designer II is responsible for completing intermediate to complex alignment, design and fabricated pipeline drawings. Preparing intermediate to complex level structural fabrication drawings for proposed gas facilities and alignment projects (i.e. Buildings, bridges, vaults, pits, compressor stations, M&R, DR Stations etc.)

What You Will Do:Design complex piping / mechanical fabrication drawings and/or civil site and grading plans, pipeline alignment and profile drawings for construction of gas distribution pipeline projects (e.g., gate stations, meter and regulator stations as well as related pipeline appurtenance).Assist with mentoring the development of less experienced designers including review and checking drawings.Coordinate assigned projects, preparing project drawing reviews and ongoing status reports.Coordinate work to outside design / drafting contractors, including review and detailed checks, in compliance to Company and Industry Standards and Guidelines.Assist Internal and External customers by providing them with drawings and other needed pipe information and data.Assist with the facility data research required for modifying existing facilities.Maintain good record keeping of design drawings and related information.Provide gas facility and mapping information to engineering, construction and other company personnel.Provide gas facility information to external customers i.e. engineering firms, Blue Stakes, Government agencies, etc.Works under direction of immediate supervision as well as other more senior designers to carry out drafting assignments with latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment.Perform other duties as assigned.Who You Are:

Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications. A bachelor’s degree can count as one year experience.

2+ years’ experience as a CAD Designer or equivalent professional experience.Knowledge of (CAD) Computer Aided Drafting programs. Advanced skill and knowledge in the operational use of a personal computer and the following software: AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, Vehicle Tracking, Autodesk Vault, CADWorx, P&ID and Microsoft Windows Operating System, Word and Excel.Ability to read, and understand, Gas and Pipeline facility drawings and alignment sheets. Understanding of standard practices and terminology.Knowledge of property rights-of-way and surveying principles. Knowledge of basic mathematics including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to read and understand Pre and Post constructed field notes and surveys, complete written and oral instructions.Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customers and work independently with minimal supervision.Ability to work at a level that demands exacting attention to detail.Ability to calculate and describe complex rights-of-ways.Licenses, Certifications or Quals Description
