Under supervision of Professor Wallace Chen, Co-Chair of the Translation and Interpretation Program, the Graduate Assistant provides administrative support for the T&I Program. This is a non-exempt, temporary part-time staff position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Handles all program inquiries
· Represents the T&I Program in campus-wide activities
· Handles general correspondence with clients, students, businesses, institutions etc.
· Oversees mailings for program newsletters and brochures
· Assists with Program set up
· Greets public and handles phone, in-person, mail, fax, and e-mail inquiries from public, staff, faculty, students, and maintains telephone message pad
· Processes initial inquiries by sending relevant program information/brochures and application materials and maintains log book
· Assists in the daily preparation and updating of correspondence, general information for students as well as program records using word processing software, photocopier, fax machine and e-mail software
· Maintains general office and database files
· Maintains office equipment to working standards
· Supports program hospitality events

Performs other related duties as requested by Program.
