By working at Yellowstone National Park, you will get all three! As the Furniture Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day functions that keep the park running smoothly. Job Summary: This role requires expertise in operating various tools and equipment, including table saws and paint booths, as well as the ability to refurbish historic furniture, fabricate custom items, and perform minor repairs on a wide range of fixtures and equipment. Additionally, the position involves mentoring junior staff, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Responsibilities Furniture Lead Responsible for the safe operator of table saws, drills, circular saws, routers, sanders, commercial paint booth and hand tools. Ability to refurbish historic furniture and renovation projects, re-weaving and refurbishing historic wicker, cane and rattan furniture. Fabrication of signs, frames, specialty boxes, cabinetry, bus stands displays, and stands. Routing of wood equipment and other in-house repair projects such as luggage racks, dining room trays, housekeeping carts, wheelchairs, & recycle stands. Ability to complete small fixture repair on lamps, fans, wheels, and equipment and installation of buttons, henge's, drawer pulls, wheels, glides, arms, etc. on a variety of furniture. Assist the upholsterer in repairing awnings, tarps, covers, bags, & event tents. Assist the Support Services Manager with property control management, repair, & organization. Chipping of historic & antique furniture holdings. Ability to take the lead in function set up & breakdown, loading trucks, moving equipment as needed. Mentor & train Furniture Level II on safety procedures & use of paint booth & shop equipment, including saws, sanders, routers, glass cutters, lifting, and handcarts. Inventory supply control for paint, wood, & shop needs. Winterizing & general facility management of Support Services building. i.e. changing of filters, emptying sawdust vents, shoveling snow, etc. Oversee the commercial paint spraying of equipment & furniture. Air Intake & Heat system operation of commercial paint booth. Change filters, order supplies, keep work area safe with combustibles. Ability to oversee furniture movement in warehouse as needed for functionality & organization of storage spaces. Qualifications Must be capable of loading, handling, transporting and unloading all furniture, fixtures and equipment in a safe, efficient manner. Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and possess a current DOT physical card. A thorough knowledge of Park and concession-operated locations including buildings and dorms is beneficial. Ability to set up banquet equipment in an efficient and timely manner. Must be capable of driving 24,000 GVW vehicle on narrow mountain roads.Physical Requirements include: Physical Requirements Include: Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Able to be on your feet for at least 8 hours each day, including bending, pushing and pulling. Able to climb and descend stairs with loads. Able to work in changing weather conditions. Must possess physical stamina and conditioning to withstand heavy labor, i.e. 8 hours of moving heavy furniture and mattresses. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
