Functional Safety Manager

We are now looking for a Functional Safety Manager to strengthen the T&V Test Services, Emissions & Automation team in its strive to secure a safe and redundant test facility for regular and future fuels and fulfil all regulatory requirements on functional safety.

The location for this permanent position is Vaasa, Finland.
 
Your role and responsibilities:

  

The Functional Safety Manager will manage the functional safety of the STH Plant, which includes the fuel storage area and the test cells in the Hub and Research Lab. You’ll be working as a part of a dedicated team with diverse expertise.

 

Responsibilities for the position:

 

Manage safety lifecycle processes in line with IEC 61511 Develop, implement, and manage the Functional Safety Management Plan (FSMP) in line with IEC 61511 standards Ensure correct documentation, and reports are available for all Safety lifecycle phases Manage audits and assessments to verify adherence to IEC 61511 requirements and address non-compliance issues Provide leadership and training to engineering, operations, and maintenance teams on functional safety principles and standards

 

Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have: 

 

Relevant technical education (BSc or higher in Automation, Electrical, Process engineering or equivalent) Strong knowledge of IEC 61511 and safety lifecycle processes Certification (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety Engineer/Expert) preferred Other earlier safety experiences such as HSE, and process safety are seen as a benefit Strong leadership skills, organisation and interpersonal skills Excellent communication and teamwork skills English language skill is required. Swedish and Finnish are seen as an advantage 3+ years of experience in functional safety IEC61511 and automation engineering Structured way of working and planning Willingness to learn and adapt
