This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience division.

Summary:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Functional Safety Engineer with our Advanced Safety & User Experience division in Carmel, IN (relocation offered within the USA).   This role is primarily responsible for the Functional Safety design and analysis at the hardware level for Perception Systems including Radar and Computer Vision for Active Safety products in Automotive applications.

Summary / Responsibilities:

•Work independently on design tasks to lead the electrical hardware functional safety design

•Design Safety Electronics Electrical Hardware Products

•Work with electrical engineering team to create the functional safety design and analysis

•Support electrical DFMEA creation and maintenance

•Create safety related DFA, FMEDA, FTA, HARA, HEER, and SAR for the hardware design

•Review customer requirements

•Support product design reviews

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline

• 2 + years’ experience in functional safety design and analysis

• Familiarity and understanding of ISO26262, particularly parts 5, 8, and 9

• Experience with safety analysis and creation of DFA, DFMEA, FMEDA, FTA HARA, HEER, and SAR

• Understanding of electrical circuits and the design of them

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong work ethic to support Product team design efforts and timing

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)

• ISO26262 certification level 1 or higher

• Experience with automotive product design and standards

• Familiarity with Ansys Medini software tool

• Experience with designing and analyzing electrical circuits

• Understanding of electrical lab test and measurement techniques

• Experience with or course work on RF theory, microcontrollers, and high speed circuit design

• Ability to multitask across various project activities

• Ability to work with a global program team
