Job Purpose:

The role of the Lecturer is the delivery of training and education of students, student consultations, and the establishment of a knowledge base of the discipline through academic research & development; while providing overall support to the Academic department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Presenting content in a class environmentBriefing students for assignments and projectsMarking assessments and providing feedbackActively engaging with current trends in teaching and learning strategies within the Rosebank College environmentDeveloping and implementing intervention programmes for at-risk students

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Honours Degree in IT or related field, with specialisation in ProgrammingIdeal:Masters Degree in IT, specialising in Programming3 - 5 Years of Lecturing experienceNQF level 8 qualification in Education (PGDHE or equivalent); Training and Development an added advantage.Experience in guidance and counselling, and remediation. 

Key Competencies

Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework.Knowledge and understanding of the Teaching and Learning theory and interventions.The ability to provide student support services.The ability to work with and learn more about digitalized academic platforms.The ability to cope with a frequently changing environment and to adapt to evolving situations.Ability to adhere to rules and strictly follow work regulations.Deadline orientated and can work well under pressure.Ability to manage time effectively.
