About the Role

Validity is seeking a Full Stack WordPress Developer to not only maintain five websites, but to also help visually evolve our brand with high-performing websites and create seamless user experiences. This developer will work closely with our graphic design, content, demand generation, product marketing, and product management teams - so it is important to be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical partners. We are open to candidates who can work out of our Boston, MA (Financial District) office or remote candidates.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor and optimize site speedMaintain website securityDevelop and implement interactive web elements that engage visitors and increase time on siteCreate and guide the website architectureMaintain the CMS instances for optimal performanceCollaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the goals and objectives of each page to offer recommendationsWork with Senior Graphic Designer to turn layouts and wireframes into HTML pagesKeep themes and plugins up to dateManage the back-end and website architectureEffectively manage any additional contractors needed to deliver on larger development projects such as entire site redesignsConduct performance tests and troubleshooting issuesEnable designated stakeholders to make minimal copy changes on the site themselfMonitor live website performanceEnsure projects stick to budgets and deadlinesProvide diagnostic reports of website performance with improvement recommendationsResearch and utilize industry standards and trendsTake care of security and compliance standardsImplement tracking code through Google Tag ManagerAnalyze and diagnose site traffic and conversion points

Required Experience, Skills, and Education

Minimum 5 years of WordPress development experienceIn-depth understanding of front-end technologies like HTML, jQuery, JavaScript, and CSSExperience in building user interfacesA solid understanding of user experienceExperience in developing responsive websitesFamiliarity with tools like Chrome Inspector and FirebugAn eye for detail in browser and platform visualsInteraction with REST APIs and formats such as XML and JSONAwareness of code versioning tools such as GitExperience with Divvy and ElementorWeb analytics experienceKnowledge of PHP back-end developmentBachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, IT, or a related field. Relevant industry experience and portfolio will be considered in the absence of a degree

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education

A background in digital marketingExperience with GA4Conversion rate optimization experience with tools such as Hotjar, Crazy Egg, and Unbounce
