What You’ll Do
As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you’ll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies pushing the boundaries to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers’ high-value problems. You’ll design, develop, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products—and work on challenging projects, contributing your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnically leads and/or executes difficult, complex software projects.
Interfaces with external customers or vendors regarding software issues.
Interfaces with internal customers regarding requirements analysis and schedule.
Troubleshoots a wide range of complex, difficult software problems. Performs software tests on code and enhancements. Develops software documentation.
Defines software specifications, and designs software products.
Contributes to technical review boards for assigned programs.
Develops code for software projects, and design and implement bug fixes.
Compiles data for regularly scheduled or special reports, analysis and statements.
This technical staff position leads and/or develops and executes exceptionally complex technology and engineering projects and leads research and development of new technologies as appropriate. Works on difficult issues that impact design and product success and/or addresses future concepts, products or technologies. Success is measured by one or more of the following: incremental revenue growth, market share increases, key customer penetrations, time to market improvement and commercial value of the work.
Within safety guidelines design, perform, collect data, analyze and compile reports on unusually complex engineering experiments and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
Develop innovative solutions as part of proven track record of significant technology contributions. Recognized for technical expertise.
Conceive and implement new technology, normally participate in at least one critical patent, and received recognition through at least one award and/or published paper within the last five years.
Collaborates to work on difficult issues that impact design and product success and/or addresses future concepts, products and technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
Comfortable with Agile development and rapid prototyping
.Net/C# Experience
Python and any AI/ML Platform is a plus
Parallel programming/multi-threading
Windows Communication Framework (WCF)
Windows Forms based UIs Object Oriented programming (OOP) and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) Design Patterns Experience in semiconductor industry is a plus.

$152,000.00 - $209,000.00The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
