Full Charge Bookkeeper
Description Robert Half is hiring a Full Charge Bookkeeper for an excellent opportunity with a company in the Construction/Contractor industry. In this role, you will carry out all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including but not limited to preparing financial statements, and establishing and preserving accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. This long-term contract / temporary to hire Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Santa Barbara, California. Your responsibilities in this role - Handling reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll - Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers - Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections - Carefully filing documents to preserve historical records - Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time - Following federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, implementing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions - Assembling the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and income and cash flow statements - Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules Requirements - Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures - Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate - High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred - Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting - Ability to multitask effectively - Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision - Excel, Quickbooks, and Sage 100experience desired - Experience with payroll preferred - Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities - 2+ years of experience in the bookkeeping field - Strong familiarity with Job Cost - Budget forecasting experience - Expertise in billing - Bookkeeping experience Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
