Job Summary: The Fuel Pricing Leader is responsible for attaining or exceeding corporate and strategic goals related to fuel operations, to include gross profit, market share and volume by pricing stores.
Principal Duties:Execute the retail fuel pricing strategy for stores in a given territory on a 24x7x365 basis. Respond to rapidly changing market conditions by refining pricing strategies and tactics to achieve financial targets. Publish and maintain fuel pricing guidelines for all stores and monitor compliance. Monitor and report on financial plans, budgets, and execution of store-level pricing guidelines.Utilize market data and analysis to make tactical pricing decisions and to ensure price changes are supported by scientific method and environmental changes to the market.Conduct in depth pricing analysis and intelligence gathering for each fuel market and submit detailed market analysis reports with recommendations for refining pricing strategies, as well as next steps for implementing and measuring the impact of changes.Utilize and perform market research to identify and respond to opportunities, threats and changes in the marketplace to make recommendations for maximizing long-term financial performance.Identify emerging trends in the fuel market by conducting regular market tours and store visits, analysis of historical performance, and research of industry publications and current events that lead to strategy recommendations.Document and maintain competitor attributes and site data as part of ensuring market knowledge and analysis are current to support sound strategy recommendations and pricing decisions. Educate the Pricing Team of any market changes.Observe & respond to macro market demand forces dynamics and investigate market share and profitability impacts. Implement daily price changes and make strategy recommendations to ensure a balance of market share and profitability growth. Communicate findings and recommendations to the Pricing Team.Execute Wawa's fuel highway sign program.Provide cross functional partnership to Store Operations teams by communicating pricing strategies and gathering concerns and recommendations related to fuel performance and sharing with appropriate work group(s) for evaluation and response.Essential Functions:
