The Opportunity
FCA is seeking an intern who will provide non-clinical support and advocacy services to individuals within the Integrated Clinic through the appropriate disclosure of their lived experience.
Responsibilities
+ Demonstrate understanding of the peer role. Utilize lived experience to engage people from various settings into treatment.
+ Provide support, encouragement, and guidance in linking individuals to appropriate services.
+ Maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries with individuals.
+ Follow-up on treatment recommendations and referrals made by clinical staff and assist with adherence to treatment appointments.
+ Provide warm handoffs to treatment providers and/or recovery support services and other community resources as indicated in the treatment plan.
+ Provide outreach, advocacy, mentoring and recovery support services to those seeking or sustaining recovery.
+ Participate in on-site and off-site activities with participants when applicable.
+ Responsible for crisis intervention and incident reporting procedures with the assistance of supervisor
+ Act as an advocate and liaison for participants for access to supports.
+ Document services in program EHR following requirements set by OMH, OASAS, SAMHSA and Medicaid.
+ Participate in weekly supervision.
Qualifications
+ H.S Diploma or Equivalent
+ completion of Core Courses through the Academy of Peer Services
+ Valid and clean Driver's License
Schedule: 14-21 hours per week
