Role Purpose

Execute Scoping for Maintenance activities including Zone Maintenance, Tankage & Maintenance projects

Key Accountabilities/Objectives:

To establish the full content of the job to be scoped, mainly mechanical work, for both SAPREF and Core Contractors. To liaise with various disciplines in establishing and clarifying job requirements (mechanical, operations, civil, instrumentation and inspection). To scope all Maintenance tasks requested either on PACER or as outlined in the annual budget. To prepare scopes for outage-related work To ensure that Bill of Materials (BOMs) or Material Issue Vouchers (MIV’s) are prepared and given to the contractor well before the planned job execution date. To prepare estimates on Pacer/Oracle using core contract unit rate or star rate. Review and challenge pricing submitted by Core Contractor Estimator before passing on to the relevant Lead for approval. Planning and Cost Control To plan and keep track of workload, including inspection advices. To provide resource links to the Maintenance Services Lead for scoped jobs. To analyze the Plan KPIs relevant to his/ her scope of work and ensure that the set targets are met. To attend and contribute to the daily planning meetings, and the weekly 7 day look ahead meeting. To assist the Maintenance Services Lead, Maintenance Supervisor and Area Engineer in clarifying bids submitted by the contractor. To ensure that jobs are estimated on a unit or star rate basis to maximize efficiency of core resources. Health, Safety and Environment To actively participate in the promotion of Health Safety and Environment through near miss reporting on CIS. To participate in HSE audits to ensure compliance with safety standards, especially housekeeping. The Scoper’s role requires him to spend significant time on site. He can contribute toward the safety and housekeeping standards on site.
