Are you a passionate, self-starting frontend engineer? Interested in building amazing mobile and web experiences? We are looking for a frontend engineer to join our team. You will be working on A to Z, Amazon’s flagship employee mobile and web eco-system, used daily by millions of Amazonians. You'll work at the forefront of technology, leveraging the latest AWS services and industry-leading practices to deliver a dynamic, personalized, and fresh mobile and web experience to all of our users. We use the latest mobile native, web and LLM/GenAI technologies that can scale to serve millions of Amazonians globally. This role offers continuous opportunities to innovate as you develop new features, enhance existing tools, and design seamless integrations across Amazon's technical landscape.
Key job responsibilities
* Design and deliver mobile applications that serve our entire global workforce. Amazon employees are your customers.
* Build fresh and dynamic front-ends that are pixel-perfect using React and other technologies for both mobile and web
* Assist in building end-to-end solutions using modern serverless technologies and AWS services, ensuring exceptional performance and reliability
* Drive data-driven technical decisions while maintaining high standards in complex, ambiguous environments
* Collaborate with product and design partners to create intuitive user experiences that simplify complex workflows
* Innovate and improve our engineering practices while maintaining operational excellence
* Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering culture
* Take ownership of critical features from design through production, ensuring they meet enterprise-scale requirements

About the team
Within Amazonian Experience and Technology (AET), the A to Z Experiences team builds and maintains Amazon's primary employee platform across mobile and web. We own critical touchpoints including homepages, search functionality, and global navigation, serving a diverse workforce of 1.2M associates and 400K corporate employees. Our platform processes 3.9B annual interactions, making us essential to Amazonians' daily work lives - from managing schedules and pay to accessing benefits and career resources.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience (non-internship) in professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Experience in computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis)
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
