What you’ll do
On our mission to improve developer experience at SAP, we are looking for you, an experienced developer with a focus on frontend. You will join us to develop the “Hyperspace Portal”, the new entry point for 50.000 developers at SAP. The portal is based on the Luigi micro-frontend framework. It enables loosely-coupled development of UIs, which are composed into a single frontend application. Built on Kubernetes, we provide an extensible platform that unifies all our tooling, and documentation to create a streamlined developer experience at SAP.

 

As a developer, you will be part of the cross-functional “Frame team”, which is responsible for foundational services of the portal.

 

You will design and implement components of the portal and be involved in all phases of the development lifecycle – from idea generation over development to operations and support (with a focus on development) You will support the product owner in defining concepts, doing technical evaluations and providing effort estimations You will collaborate with a creative, supportive and skilled team, which is distributed across Sofia, Munich and Walldorf You will use a modern technology stack based on our open-sourced Luigi micro-frontend framework, Angular, NestJS and Kubernetes You will work with and improve development tools like VS Code, Git, Node, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Terraform You will create reliable and fast unit and end-to-end tests to deliver quality software

What you bring
We don’t expect that you know everything already – you’ll get the time to learn and receive the support you’ll need.

 

BS or MS degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience (graduates are welcome!) Strong computer science foundation (data structures, algorithms, databases, distributed systems) and analytical skills Team player with clear communication, being fluent in English and German  Experience working as a software developer, with extended knowledge of TypeScript and Angular Experience with cloud-native development paradigms and platforms like Kubernetes or Cloud Foundry Experience with agile development practices, including test-driven-development, pair programming and code reviews Curiosity to learn and a growth mindset.

 

We are looking for a developer focusing on the frontend, but you will always have the chance to work on the full stack. An additional opportunity is to support the team as the Scrum Master.

As part of the BTP Core Experience unit, you will work together with a cross-functional team that specializes in bringing great experiences to end users at cloud scale. We cover a variety of user interfaces, from modern micro-frontend UIs to efficient CLIs and are enablers and integration experts, providing the reliable foundation for other teams to build on top of with inner-source and open-source projects.
