Front Office Supervisor

SUMMARY

The Front Office Overnight Supervisor is responsible for all hotel operations during overnight shift hours, focusing on Front Office operations, night audit and hotel safety/security. Enforces the Hotels Standards of Excellence in all areas supervised.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Job duties include; although are not limited to:

Manage and monitor activities of all employees in the Front Office department, making sure they adhere to the standards of excellence and to the guidelines set in the associate handbook, hotel policies and procedures, coaching, training, and correcting where needed.Direct and oversee all hotel operations during the night shift to ensure guest satisfaction and safety, dealing with complaints, problem-solving, disturbances, special requests and any other issues that may arise.Conduct briefing for all staff during the night shift and oversee the preparation of daily summary reports.  Check accommodations, make sure any special request is carried out accordingly, greet guests upon arrival and ensure escort to accommodations.Manage the night shift in the department, ensuring all employees perform the tasks assigned to them and coordinate Front Office activities with other departments.Ensure the accurate completion of the daily night audit in a timely fashion. Must be able to perform the full night audit if needed.Inform all overnight staff of nightly activities, group, and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests.Occasionally assist guests with their luggage, be a point of contact for hotel guests, and valet park guest’s cars.Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, assigning nightly work, conducting training, counseling and evaluations.Always maintain a professional and high-quality service-oriented environment.Be aware and able to enforce all fire-life-safety procedures. Report any suspicious person, activities and/or hazardous conditions to the Security department.Knows all essential aspects of our resort or hotel operations.Works collaboratively with any resort associates, department, and resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

College degree preferred3 to 5 years leadership experience in a luxury hotelExperience and knowledge of hotel operations is requiredOpera experience preferredWork positively in a team environmentExcellent driving recordExceptional guest recovery skillsEnjoy interacting with people in a fast paced environmentAbility to work and remain calm and professional under potentially stressful situations to ensure guest satisfaction.Excellent organizational and time management skillsStrong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookMust possess a positive attitudeMust be willing to participate in a learning environmentMust integrate company values throughout all interactionsMust be able to quickly adapt to effectively using new software productsMust be dependable and available to work within the hotel on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day. Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours a day. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
