Join us as our new Fresh Dairy Application Technician We are looking for a new laboratory technician, food- or dairy technologist (laborant/mejerist(mejeriteknolog) to conduct trials with our cultures and enzymes in fresh dairy applications. This position will play an important role in applying enzymes and cultures to enhance the quality, functionality, and performance of our wide range of dairy derived food products. A successful candidate is willing to perform small to large scale food production with stainless steel equipment, following GMP procedures as well as work with laboratory analysis such as cell count and enzymatic assays in different working environment. With a flexible mindset, the person will be contributing to the timely delivery of new and innovative biosolutions to the fresh dairy market (yogurt, milk, desserts). You will have the opportunity to work in our newly build dairy plant and laboratory in Hørsholm, use and further develop your hands-on experience in fresh dairy application processes and laboratory analyses as well as further advance our deep understanding of novonesis ingredients with matrices and process conditions. Welcome to Fresh Dairy Projects Competences & Sensory, Applied R&D Dairy and Dairy Alternatives You will become part of Applied R&D Fresh Dairy, Projects, Competences & Sensory Denmark composed of 8 scientists and 6 technicians. Located in Hørsholm, Denmark, our team has a global role and collaborates closely with Business development, Marketing, R&D, local application teams, Sales and our customers all over the world. The department in Denmark is composed of 25 highly skilled scientists and technicians, who are divided in two teams with different areas of responsibility – Projects and Technical Support – yet working closely together. The Projects, Competences and Sensory team, you are joining, plays a pivotal role in both short and long-term new product and competence development projects. The aim is to develop new solutions of microbial cultures and enzymes for our customers for a wide range of fresh dairy products (stirred yogurt, ambient, Greek/skyr, drinking, probiotics, fluid milk). We are using state-of-the-art production pilot plant and laboratory technologies, methodologies and modern equipment to deliver on our ambition. Your new team holds a strong expertise in fermentation, texture of food and high-quality fermented/non fermented milk production and evaluation. The team is multicultural and values good collaboration, open communication and high quality. We work in a flexible way across many different projects to accommodate our customers’ needs. At the same time, each technician develops into specialized area of expertise which ensure on-going personal and professional development, as well as an optimization of our existing methods and processes. In this role you’ll make an impact by… …planning, designing and conducting high quality mini/medium size pilot scale production and relevant follow-ups for our Fresh Dairy innovation project pipeline. You will ensure ensuring optimal quality, sensory profile and performance of the final dairy products. You will contribute, in collaboration with the relevant worldwide experts, in raising our knowledge on how to apply in the best way novonesis bacterial cultures and enzymes in fresh dairy applications. You will optimize and establish new relevant laboratory analysis, enzymatic assays, and equipment to qualify our biosolutions. Your tasks as a Fresh Dairy application technician will furthermore include: + Prepare samples for follow up analyses of fermented milk products in relation to microbiology, pH, texture, chemical composition and sensory analyses. + Understand and critically analyze of the carried-out experiment, report results, findings, and conclusions in notebook. + Perform cleaning, maintenance and safety checks on production equipment to ensure good quality and working environment. + Manage supply and stock of raw materials + Undertake duties to maintain smooth functioning of production facility and laboratories shared between technicians the Dairy & Dairy Alternative Applied R&D organization. + Actively interact with technician and scientist and raise your opinion to influence and optimize our ways of working. Who are we looking for? We imagine that the ideal candidate for this position is a laboratory technician, food- or dairy technologist by education (laborant/mejerist/mejeriteknolog). Previous experience with innovation teams, dairy cultures and/or enzymes is considered as a plus.
