Some mandatory overtime may be required, and voluntary overtime may be available. Shift hours: 12 PM – 8:30 PM Monday through Friday plus Saturdays as required. Responsible for operating industrial equipment and forklift trucks to perform all material handling assignments. Identify and transport material to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, in/out of trailers. Must be able to withstand extreme cold temperatures of -8 degree temperature in freezer and 45 degree temperature on dock. Responsibilities Performs operation and safety checks on equipment before use. Familiarizes self with productive capacity of machines or loading schedule of shipping services to assure prompt delivery of required items to proper destination, so that equipment does not shut down. Removes empty skids and stacks skids in designated areas. Proceeds safely to assigned area to pull, load, and move merchandise and all documents specific to each type of merchandise. Completes cleaning duties at the end of designated shift Completes safety check on equipment prior to usage including but not limited to battery, brakes, lift controls, and computer. Moves or lifts up to 75 lbs. Required to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts etc. Employees shall follow all GMP & Food safety requirements Perform other duties as required or directed. Must be able to meet production standards of quota required Qualifications Background Candidate must be able to pass both a background check and drug screen Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Familiarity with warehouse and/or distribution facility. Team player Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Basic knowledge of computer functions on a keyboard. Education, Training, and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous job experience as a forklift operator preferred. Experience in the distribution industry a plus. Working Conditions/Environment WORKING CONDITIONS: Refrigerated, freezer and dry warehouse environmental working conditions. Temperatures ranging from 45º to -8º. Must adhere to work schedule working week nights and weekends. Busy, noisy warehouse environment. Ambient outside temperatures in the dry warehouse. Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the physical requirements exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly. Frequent to constant standing, lifting, handling, stooping, walking, carrying, kneeling, seeing, pulling, climbing, hearing, speaking, pushing, bending, and reaching.
