We are looking for a FPGA Developer Engineer (m/f/d) to join our the Embedded Electronics department in the Innovation Team!
In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Evaluating system requirements and proposing hardware solutions based on FPGA, focused on reliability, performance, and safety.
• Building requirement specifications according to the system description.
• Evaluating design effort and task scheduling.
• Simulating design according to the requirement specification.
• Building Proof of Concept hardware using FPGA evaluation boards.
• Developing software/firmware to interact with the developed system.
• Validating design using logic analyzers and lab instrumentation.
• Defining design integration with existing digital hardware subsystems at PCB level.
• Specifying schematic and layout requirements.
• Validating PCB prototypes in the laboratory.
• Conducting functional integration tests.
• Defining test protocols for automated testing.
• Writing technical documentation: requirements and design specifications, reports.
• Planning and coordinating tasks with the project manager and head of development.
• Supporting team members.
We’re looking for someone who has:
• A degree in Electronics Engineering.
• 5 years of experience in digital design using HDL languages (VHDL, Verilog).
• Experience with FPGA development tools (Quartus, Vivado, Diamond, Libero IDE).
• Experience in HLD simulation and ILA (Integrated Logic Analyzer).
• Experience using FPGA programmers (JTAG, USB Blaster, Silicon Sculptor).
• Experience in designing and testing architectures using microcontrollers.
• Experience with standard serial interfaces (I2C, SPI, JTAG).
• Experience using logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of embedded programming languages (Assembly, C/C++, MicroPython).
• Knowledge of test automation.
• Strong debugging skills.
• Fluent English speaker, German knowledge would be a plus.
