Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **The Construction Industries CFO Team is seeking a FP&A Team Lead, in Irving, TX – Corporate Headquarters.** Caterpillar has exciting opportunities for business leaders who want to be challenged, make an impact, and are interested in progressing through a number of staff and managerial assignments. This position will offer you the opportunity to interact and present to the top senior leaders within the Construction Industries segment, including Group President, Group CFO, Sr. VPs, and Division CFOs regarding financial planning and analysis insights. In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop tools and visualization analysis in a fast-paced, innovative, and growing global organization. This role will encourage you to demonstrate and develop your leadership skills, utilizing excellent communication, presentation, and financial analysis skills. As well as being a liaison with other groups throughout the enterprise in corporate and business units. In addition, this role will be heavily involved in leading and implementing strategic finance initiatives. While this role does not have direct reports, it does directly lead and influence decisions. **JOB DUTIES:** The FP&A Team Lead on the CFO team is knowledgeable on a variety of business functions. They will act as an advisor on business related issues to business unit accountants as well as non-accountants and can resolve issues independently. Incumbent can accomplish complex and/or technical analysis, but generally utilizes data gathered by others to render a financial opinion or business decision. Incumbent will provide advice/recommendations to drive behavior (ability to influence management directions) with segment managers, division managers, business unit managers and leaders, often working on tactical and strategic business issues. They will demonstrate decision making skills and ownership for results. **What You Will Do:** + Monthly and quarterly release financial reporting, forecasting and decision support including presenting and providing actionable insights, and recommendations to senior leaders. + Providing a strategic focus, making decisions, and leading initiatives on complex financial, and non-financial business activities within and outside team to represent the group. + Active leader in the development and support of business strategies and process improvements. + Proactively interacting with internal customers to develop, understand and manage customer requirements and expectations. + Learning and applying new data analytics techniques + Identifying opportunities for efficiency and improved reporting through analytics and optimization + Providing guidance and expertise on business issues of global impact and/or high complexity such as financial reporting requirements for business units. + Providing creative solutions that challenge traditional methods and processes. + Financial accounting including consolidation, analysis and communication of segment results. + Liaison between Corporate and the division business resource teams. **What You Have:** + **Education/Experience:** 4-year degree in accounting/finance **OR** any 4-year degree with a certification (CPA/CMA) **AND** 6-8 years of accounting/finance/business experience + **Accuracy and Attention to Detail:** Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision + **Analytical Thinking:** Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. + **Decision Making and Critical Thinking:** Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. + **Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. + **Managing Multiple Priorities:** Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation. + **Financial Analysis:** Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material. + **Financial Reporting:** Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports. **Top Candidates Will Also Have:** + Business Unit experience with financial analysis and forecasting. + Data Visualization experience, Power BI, Tableau, etc. + Experience with consolidations at either the corporate or business unit level. + Strong analytical, process improvement and problem-solving skills. + Proven record of strong initiative, leadership, accountability, and effective communication skills working with a global team. **Additional Information:** + This position will be located in Irving, TX + This role is full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office + Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify + Sponsorship is not available **Summary Pay Range:** $126,000.00 - $189,000.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
