FP&A Analyst

PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) FP&A Analyst at our Tysons, Viringia location. The primary purpose of this role will be the financial forecasting of company’s balance sheet and income statement, which includes interest income, interest expense and other income/ expense projections and measure actual performance against goals/forecasts. Create monthly expense reporting to review with senior level team members of Penfed Business Units and help them understand results (actuals, budget, forecasts). Provide insight into variance analysis as needed. Assist Accounting in monthly close process. Load data into Hyperion and check for accuracy. Assist with the corporate multi-year budget, quarterly forecasts and monthly expense estimates. Identify ways to improve reporting, create and track new reporting, performance metrics, and KPI’s to help business units track their results. Use existing systems and collaborate with stakeholders to improve and automate expense reporting. Identify ways to make reporting more efficient. Ability to create / maintain expense, forecast, and budgeting models. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience is required Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience is preferred Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in consulting, financial services, banking, or credit unions. Strong skills in various data analysis including Excel, PowerPoint, and Hyperion are required. Tableau experience is a plus. Some experience working with large datasets and knowledge of various data analysis software packages and tools (e.g., MS-Excel, SQL, Hyperion, PeopleSoft ERP) is strongly preferred. Attention to detail and accuracy is a must. Intermediate research, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills to help team articulate expense results to senior management. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not directly supervise employees. Licenses and Certifications There are no additional certifications required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. *Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.* Travel Ability to travel is not required.
