JOB SUMMARY:
Sets up and operates one or more slide forming machines to
automatically punch, cut, and form metal strips and wire by action of opposing
rams to fabricate parts such as spring washers, brackets, and clips.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:
Reads and interprets documents (blue prints, drawing, or
manufacturing work orders), to ascertain what tools and materials are necessary
for producing products to precision tolerance to aircraft specifications.
Sets up and operates, on a production basis, various
four-slide machines. This includes
settings and adjustments required to produce parts to specification. Selects, mounts and aligns tooling
attachments and materials in proper order and relationship. Makes all adjustments necessary to produce
parts of acceptable quality.
Loads machine with material and monitors production run,
using measuring devices, such as comparator, micrometers, calipers and various
other inspection gauges.
Meets and maintains all productivity levels, as well as
quality to support departmental goals and schedules.
Performs records keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and
follows safety regulations.
The pay scales for this position ranges from $18.00-$29.86 hourly
