About the Role:
Layout Engineering Managers lead teams to achieve short-term and long-term goals in building and planning. They guide various departments like Industrial Engineering, Facilities, Construction, Model of Record (MOR), and Environmental teams. These teams help in creating and expanding manufacturing facilities for FSM fabs and the Virtual Factory (VF) network globally .The successful candidate will manage the Factory Layout organization. This includes, but is not limited to:
Strategic planning and tactical execution for the technology MORs, capacity, space, capital and systems, tool install design and construction, and facilities design and planning.
Reporting accurate tool, capacity, and CapEx data and trends and defining strategies to meet and exceed world-class metrics.
Partnering with key stakeholders within Finance, Fab/Sort Manufacturing (LTD), Disaggregation Manufacturing Organization (DMO), Global Sourcing for Equipment and Materials (GSEM), Fab Construction Enterprise (FCE) and others.
Influencing GM level customers and report progress to FSM Staff level management.
Leading a vibrant and inclusive culture, as a manager of managers, and principal engineers requires daily tactical consistency, long-term strategy definition and roadmap execution.
Manage department managers and senior engineers to analyze and plan the space, tool capacity and program/financial implications, including tool model development, capacity what-if analyses, capacity improvement projects, facilities/construction assessments.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
BS/MS in Engineering or similar field; MBA or MS in Finance
15+ years of experience in fab/planning/supply chain, Industrial engineering, or Finance.
10+ years of experience leading and setting priorities for multiple engineering teams, including second-line management in a large organization.
Int'l/worldwide team experience a plus.
Additional Qualifications / Required experience:
Deep knowledge with Factory design and operations; 10+ years of semi-conductor fab process, yield, production.
TD to FSM technology transfer knowledge and process transfer and certification.
Experience with factory fiscal management activities such as Plan, Plan of Record (POR), LRP planning cycles, and Capital Procurement Authorization (CPA) development/presentation.
Experience in collaborating with or working in major semiconductor and/or construction suppliers and design firms.
Ability to work with senior managers to influence decisions based on solid analytical and insightful business analysis.
Proficient in written and verbal communication.
Demonstrated ability to present complex technical and financial topics to senior managers, leaders, and government/industry stakeholders.
Effective leadership, communication skills, and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence, educate, and coach others.
Experience in managing technical Base Build or Progressive Build budgets across multiple sites, including technical facility transfers from TD, with authorizations to move projects forward over a multiple year horizon.
Candidate needs to demonstrate organizational and emotional intelligence to understand how work is completed, how to remove roadblocks where bandwidth is challenged, and quickly react before problems arise.
