Forklift Operator

Position Profile: The Forklift Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment. This role involves performing various warehouse functions, including shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.

Utilize RF equipment to accurately process all inbound (Receiving), outbound (Shipping), and internal orders and requisitions.

Ensure accuracy in item quantity and processing of all transactions.

Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy through Quality Assurance inspections.

Provide backup support for other departments as needed with appropriate cross-training.

Perform stock consolidation to optimize inventory performance and maximize warehouse space.

Maintain company 5S standards in assigned work areas.

Meet and maintain productivity and quality standards as defined by the department manager.

Inspect and perform QA on outbound freight to ensure correct items, quantities, and no damaged cartons are shipped without manager approval.

Palletize and load shipments to prevent damage during transit.

Load products onto LTL, TL trailers, and vans.

Inspect inbound freight for quantity and damage, completing appropriate documentation, including carriers BOL as per department's Standard Work Instruction.

Adhere to all department Standard Work Instructions.

Complete daily forklift inspection checklists, ensuring material handling equipment is operational and reporting needed repairs to management.

Perform C-TPAT compliance inspections and documentation for all inbound and outbound international shipments.

Maintain operational and warehouse security per C-TPAT policy.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Assist team leads with onboarding new employees.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Certifications):

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous forklift certification for Reach, Dock stocker, or Sit-down forklift.

RF scanner experience.

Excellent math, reading comprehension, and legible writing skills.

Minimum of three years of warehouse experience with one year of stand-up (Reach, Dock stocker) forklift experience.

Physical ability to perform assigned tasks, including walking, standing, bending, reaching for extended periods, and lifting up to 100 lbs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to follow directions and complete work assignments within established timelines.

Team player who can work and interact well with co-workers.

High attention to detail to prevent injury and property damage, promoting a safe work environment.

Ability to multi-task effectively.
