Job Description
Workers meet in the morning for a brief toolbox meeting to discuss the workload and plan the day's tasks. The worker will be performing various warehouse and shipping duties to support the manufacturing of goods in production and processing goods into inventory for order picking and shipping. Materials and goods are heavy and can weigh up to approximately 8,000 lbs.
ResponsibilitiesMaterial handling (forklift) and packaging (hand tools, palletizing, steel strapping, and wood bracing) for inventory and shipping.Operating a forklift for approximately 6 hours a day.Pick and stage materials and parts for production or load planning for shipping.Packaging products, building crates, wrapping/strapping, and securing products.Load/unload third-party transport vehicles using a propane or electric Class 1 or 4 sit-down counterbalance forklift or pallet jack (2-3 hours a day).Perform a mix of indoor/outdoor work as required for live load or unload of transport trailers.Periodic lifting requirements a few times a day (up to 50 lbs).Accepting and receiving incoming deliveries as general purchase orders or supply chain goods to process into inventory for use.Inventory management activities including cycle counting, location maintenance, FIFO/stock rotation.Essential Skills3+ months warehouse or industrial shop experience2 years forklift experience on a sit-down counterbalance (heavy items)Computer skills to be able to enter information into the systemSteel toe work bootsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a similar environmentForklift certificationProfessional attitudeGood verbal and written communicationGood attendancePositive attitudeAbility to work independentlyAbility to get along with the team and communicate with vendorsWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
Our company is a large heavy industrial manufacturing firm that has recently moved into a brand-new building. The production floor has approximately 150 employees, with 5 people in the maintenance department. Many employees are long-tenured, contributing to a family-oriented department. We have a strong safety culture, and our facility is extremely clean. The warehouse team consists of 8-10 people, with 4 bays operating at once, and there is a lot of forklift traffic. The environment is fast-paced, requiring alertness and a supportive team culture. The work environment is loud and noisy, with a paint smell around the paint booth. The warehouse is bright and enclosed. The shift for this position is 6:45 AM - 3 PM, with one 15-minute break and one 30-minute lunch break.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Langley Township, British Columbia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
